THIS WEEK'S TASTING FLIGHT:

Peay Vineyard

hero-slide-1 image

Three varietals. One coastal terroir. A focused tasting of
West Sonoma Coast precision and purity.

This week, we’re heading to California’s remote and windswept West Sonoma Coast to explore the elegant, coastal expressions of Peay Vineyards. Family-run and estate-grown, Peay’s wines are benchmarks for balance, purity, and sense of place - crafted by brothers Nick and Andy Peay alongside winemaker Vanessa Wong. Each bottling captures the cool, fog-laced energy of this rugged coastline and the meticulous farming that defines their craft.

Our $29 tasting flight features three distinct wines that showcase the full spectrum of Peay’s artistry:

2023 Peay Vineyards Chardonnay (West Sonoma Coast, California)

  • A beautifully textured Chardonnay with notes of lemon curd, white flowers, and sea-spray minerality. Elegant and restrained, it balances richness with crystalline freshness.

2023 Peay Vineyards Pinot Noir (West Sonoma Coast, California)

  • A finely etched Pinot Noir bursting with red cherry, rose petal, and forest floor aromas. Silky, perfumed, and pure — the epitome of coastal precision.

2022 Peay Vineyards Syrah (West Sonoma Coast, California)

  • A savory, pepper-laced Syrah with dark plum, olive, and violet tones. Cool-climate intensity meets graceful structure in this northern Rhône–inspired beauty.

Together, these wines offer a rare look into one of California’s most distinctive terroirs, where ocean air, sandstone soils, and meticulous farming create wines of depth and quiet power.

Join us in the Tasting Room today through Sunday and experience why Peay remains a pillar of the West Sonoma Coast and a favorite among sommeliers and collectors alike.

Cheers,

Mark & the Petit Philippe Team

Producer Deep Dive: Peay Vineyards

West Sonoma Coast, California

Perched high above the Pacific on the remote ridges of the West Sonoma Coast, Peay Vineyards is a first-generation, family-run estate founded by brothers Nick and Andy Peay, along with winemaker Vanessa Wong. From the start, their vision has been simple yet profound: to craft wines that capture the voice of this cool, coastal landscape where fog, forest, and ocean air meet.

The Peay estate vineyard lies just four miles from the ocean, rooted in ancient marine soils and buffeted by constant wind and fog. These extreme conditions yield naturally low yields, vibrant acidity, and remarkable precision across their Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Syrah.

Farming is organic and regenerative, powered by solar energy and guided by respect for the land’s balance. In the cellar, the approach is minimalist: native yeasts, gentle handling, and restrained oak, producing wines that speak clearly of place rather than process.

Today, Peay Vineyards is considered one of California’s benchmark coastal producers, defining the identity of the West Sonoma Coast appellation through wines of purity, energy, and depth. Each bottle reflects not just a varietal, but a landscape: raw, remote, and profoundly beautiful.
