Communion - We will be taking communion this Sunday! Please pick up your prepackaged communion elements from the table as you enter the Sanctuary or Balcony. All Kingdom Kids volunteers serving outside the Sanctuary are welcome to take communion in the SLC Staff Room.

Fundraiser Meal - Join us this Sunday at 12:30 p.m. in the Café for ham balls, mashed potatoes, and BBQ green beans at a fundraiser meal in support of our Encounter Ministry who is taking a short-term mission trip to Kenya. Take-outs will be available after the 9 a.m. service.

Thanksgiving Day - The Church Office will be closed next Thursday for Thanksgiving. Please note that neither The WAKE nor Celebrate Recovery will be meeting next Thursday evening.

Hulvey Live in Concert: Featuring The Young Escape + Rare of Breed

Tomorrow Night! Christian Hip Hop artist Hulvey, Christian Electronic Pop Band The Young Escape, and Christian Country Hip Hop artist Rare of Breed will be live in concert at Petra tomorrow from 7-10 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Christmas Decorating

Do you love Christmas and decorating for it? We are looking for many volunteers to help us transform our church for the holiday season on Thursday, December 1, beginning at 8 a.m. Whatever time frame you are able to come, is very appreciated! Christmas Card Exchange

Next Sunday, November 27, begins drop-offs for our annual Petra Family Christmas Card Exchange! Drop off your card(s) in one of the collection boxes located in both the Lobby and Atrium! The following Sunday will begin Christmas Card pick-ups where you can pick up Christmas Cards given to you from the appropriate boxes.

Petra on Realm NOTICE

For security reasons, Realm requires iPhones and all Apple devices to have the iOS 15.0 version or higher installed, to be able to connect to Petra on Realm. You won’t be able to register for events if your device has an older version. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Christmas Eve Service

Christmas Eve at Petra has become a family tradition you won't want to miss! On Saturday, December 24, we'd love to see you and your family at our 5 or 7 p.m. service where we will be celebrating the coming of our Prince of Peace through powerful music and engaging storytelling. Operation Christmas Child

We are excited to report on the stats so far this year! On Sunday we dedicated 504 shoeboxes from Petra families. Our generous kids and families spent 1,300 in Kingdom Bucks and $2,000 in cash at the Treasure Chest Store to fill those boxes! Since Monday, we’ve received another 1,707 shoeboxes at Petra's Drop-Off Center for a total of 2,211 boxes!

Student Ministries

The Rally

Will we see you tomorrow?! This regional all-night event for high school and middle school (6th-12th grade) students begins tomorrow at 7 p.m. and goes until 7 a.m. on Saturday! It starts at Petra with a live concert by Christian Hip Hop artist Hulvey, Christian Electronic Pop Band, The Young Escape, and Christian Country Hip Hop Artist Rare of Breed. Following that portion of the night, everyone will head to Spooky Nook, where the fun continues with activities such as arcades, sports, and movies. The event concludes at 7 a.m. after breakfast at Shady Maple Smorgasbord. The cost is $60 per student. This is your last chance to join the fun!

Friendsgiving

Are you between the ages of 18 and 28 and looking for a fun dinner party this holiday season?? The Wake invites you to a Friendsgiving happening tonight, at 7 p.m. in the Oasis. Join us for a time of community, games, and of course…turkey! Invite a friend and bring your favorite holiday dish to share. We can’t wait to see you at this holiday extravaganza!

Men's Breakfast

All guys 13 and up are invited to our Men's Breakfast at 7 a.m. in the Banquet Room at Shady Maple this Saturday. Pastor Ken Reinford will be sharing with the group. Ken has served as Petra Pastor since 2005 and currently serves as Executive Pastor of Ministries and Care. He also serves on the Elder Team. Ken’s wife Rachel passed away in 2002. His two children are married. He is enjoying the grandparenting stage of life with nine grandkids and many more who call him grandpa. His passion is to see every man living a godly life, free from bondage, honoring and respecting his wife and children. This has led him into many spiritual fathering relationships. He also leads a ministry called Father’s Heart, a residential support home for guys who are needing a fresh start. The cost of the breakfast buffet is $10; please pay onsite.

Widows Connect Thanksgiving Potluck

Senior Adults

Gift Card Drive for CrossNet

The Senior Adults are doing a Gift Card Collection Drive for families with older children served by CrossNet Ministries. For Christmas, CrossNet hands out gift cards to older children rather than trying to guess and purchase items they may not want/need.

Continuing through Sunday, December 4, there will be a decorated shoe box located at the West Hub where you can drop your gift cards. Gift cards of any amount for places like Walmart and Target, and Visa gift cards are great!

Christmas Brunch

All Senior Adults are invited to a Christmas Brunch at Petra on December 3 at 8:30 a.m. in the Café.

The Extraordinary Give

As many of you know, the Extraordinary Give is coming up this Friday. Many in our community look forward to this time of year to show their support to the nonprofit organizations they love throughout our region. Unfortunately, there’s been a lot of confusion surrounding the policies of the Extra Give this year, through no fault of any ministries that participate. This confusion has caused a few of the ministries we support to withdraw, while others are still a part of it.

Two local ministries we support, who we know have withdrawn from the Extraordinary Give are Align Life Ministries and CrossNet. We don’t want them to be forgotten, so we’ve made it easy for you to still support them this Friday, or anytime, by providing their giving links. Thank you for the ways you choose to support our community!

Christmas on Main

Join us for this fun annual tradition as we serve our community during Christmas on Main in New Holland, on Saturday, December 3. We are looking for a driver for the kids’ barrel train from either 4 to 5 or 5 to 6 p.m., and two volunteers to hand out candy, one for each hour. If you are able to serve in this way, please contact Pastor Tracy Coles.

Instep Ministries International Fundraising Banquet

Join us for Instep Ministries International Annual Fundraising Banquet on Thursday, December 1 at 6:15 p.m. at Shady Maple Banquet Rooms. Petra Missionaries, Darryl & Joyce Henson, will inform you of their latest mission activity in Europe, Eastern Europe, and the Balkans. This year, the guest speaker is Steve Shank. Steve serves as the Strategic Coach at HarvestNet International. Throughout the evening there will be worship music, a delicious buffet meal, and opportunities for you to get involved in the ministry of Instep. An offering will be received during the event. MISSION TRIP INFO

Kenya Mission Trip

Do you have a heart for Kenya and serving? If you are 18 or older, you have an opportunity to minister at an African Youth Camp for ages 13 to 21? Pastors Brian and Tracy Coles are leading a team to Kenya, Africa under Randy and Bonnie Martin’s Preparing The Way Ministries.

The trip will run from April 28-May 11, 2023. Team members must be willing/able to sleep in camping conditions (tents with air mattresses). For cost and additional information, please visit the page below or contact Pastor Tracy Coles for additional information.

Mission Prayer Focus

Les & Suzanne Yoder serve as Petra missionaries. Les gives leadership to AgConnect Ministries—a ministry that uses agriculture to meet the needs of people in less-developed regions of the world, empowering them to reach their own people for Christ. Pray for God’s wisdom to guide them, open doors for them to walk through, and provision for their ministry.

Lifespring

Winter FREEDOM Conference

This is your chance! If you are currently in a FREEDOM group or were unable to make it to our Spring FREEDOM Conference, this is your chance to experience powerful prayer, encouragement, and healing at our Winter FREEDOM Conference on December 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The cost is $25 per person. Welcome Josee!

Josee D'Amore joined our team on October 6 as our newest counselor! She earned her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy at Bethel University in San Diego, CA, emphasizing integrating psychology and the Christian faith. Her areas of focus include trauma, anxiety, OCD, grief, physical illness, sleep issues, parenting, and Codependency. Josee has worked with clients across the spectrum of ages 4 to 70s. She is currently available to meet with children ages 8 and up, tweens, teens, adults, and geriatric adults of both male and female genders.

She considers her role as a therapist to be a calling and a mission and finds deep fulfillment in helping others find God-given peace, freedom, comfort, insight, confidence, and effective life skills in navigating life’s challenges. Creating a safe place for every client is a priority for Josee. We are incredibly excited to have her and look forward to how God will use her gifts to expand his kingdom!
