Church-Wide Events
Join us onsite or online for Christmas Eve at Petra on Saturday, December 24, at our 5 or 7 p.m. program. This year, we will celebrate our Prince of Peace through fun videos, a string ensemble, engaging storytelling, a carol sing-along, and glow stick lighting! Invite your friends and family to this special Christmas tradition by sharing our event on your Facebook or Instagram page, or by grabbing a postcard at one of our hubs!
Christmas Card Exchange

Our annual Petra Family Christmas Card Exchange is in full swing! You can drop off your cards in the collection boxes at the card display. Alphabetizing and rubber-banding your cards, would greatly help us! Also please be sure to write the first and last names of people/couples you are addressing on the envelopes.

Don't forget to also pick up Christmas Cards given to you from the appropriate boxes at the card display. A current list of Petra members and regular attendees is available for pick up at the Resource Hub.
Christmas Photo Booths

Thinking about your Christmas cards? We've got you covered! Set up in both the West Lobby and Lower Lobby of the Student Life Center is a photo booth where you can snap that perfect holiday picture! Bring your phone or camera between the Sunday services (10:15-11 a.m.) and we’ll have someone available to take your picture. Don't forget to tag us on your social media and use the hashtag: #ChristmasAtPetra
THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS!

A huge THANK YOU to all the volunteers who were a part of the Christmas Decorating Team, led by Pastor Sharon. You sure did set up some beautiful displays in the Lobby and Atrium! Thank you for taking your time to serve in this way. We could not have done it without you!
Resource Hub Sale

The FINAL day of our Resource Hub sale is this Sunday! We still have some worship CDs for $1 and quite a few books on discipleship, leadership, healing, and spiritual growth available for purchase at a discounted price. Our Silent Auction for the two special custom-made signs containing the Theme Verse for our 2022 Calendar Year is still going on! Be sure to place your final bids this Sunday and don't miss your chance to pick up a few stocking stuffers!
Sabbatical Fund

Executive Pastor of Ministries, Ken Reinford, will be taking a two-month sabbatical beginning December 19. He plans to spend a relaxing holiday season with his family and then travel to Florida to read, write, and enjoy a time of refreshment. He will also travel to Africa and possibly Europe during his time off. Petra has opened a Sabbatical Fund to help cover the things he will be doing. If you would like to bless Ken with a financial gift over this time, please designate your in-person or online gift to Pastor Ken's Sabbatical or donate below.
Celebrate Christmas Sunday with us! This year, we get the privilege of worshipping with you on Christmas morning! We will have a combined service at 10 a.m. with no Children's Church. Lead Pastor Brian Coles will bring us a special Christmas message. For a bit of Christmas cheer, free coffee and donuts will be available in the Lobby and Atrium before the service. We can't wait to see you on Christmas morning!
A Christmas Letter from the Coles!

Pastors Brian and Tracy Coles sent a Petra family Christmas letter via Realm yesterday. You may read the letter here. Extra copies will be available for pick-up from the Resource Hub this Sunday.
2023 Tithe/Offering Envelopes

Now available! For the next 3 Sundays, you can find 2023 Tithe and Offering Envelopes in the Atrium next to the Resource Hub. They are in alphabetical order. Remember, you only need these envelopes if you are giving cash or if you frequently designate funds. You do not need them if you give online or by check!

All guys 13 and up are invited to Men's Breakfast in the Banquet Room at Shady Maple next Saturday, December 17, at 7 a.m. This month, our speaker is Gene Flewelling. He attended Southeastern Oklahoma University on a baseball scholarship and holds an Associate Degree in Management and Supervision and a bachelor’s degree in Business Economics from Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA. He (along with his wife, Steph) have been I-TEC volunteers since 1991 and have been on project teams in twenty-one countries. He serves as Vice-President and High Voltage Electrical Specialist/Project Leader for the organization. Both Gene and Steph desire to use their skills and abilities to serve those who minister the love of Christ worldwide. In their free time, they enjoy camping and biking. They have two sons and daughters-in-law that have given them six delightful grandchildren. The cost of the breakfast buffet is $10; please pay onsite.
Local Outreach
Sunday Food Drive

Don't forget! For the next 2 Sundays, we are collecting food for Water Street Mission. This mission supports the homeless in our community by serving 400+ meals a day, offering a safe place to stay, providing life-skills courses, job skills training, and so much more!

Food items needed are canned fruit, canned meat, pasta, spaghetti sauce, mac & cheese, cans of beef stew, canned vegetables, boxed cereal, etc. You can find an extensive list of food needs here. This Sunday, there will be a table in the Atrium where you can drop off these items before or after the services. Grocery bags with food lists attached (makes for easy shopping!) will also be available in the Atrium while supplies last. Thanks for making a difference in our community!
Missionary Prayer Focus

AJ (name withheld for security purposes) is preparing to start an assignment in West Africa. Pray for God’s covering of peace and grace as AJ takes care of remaining details in preparation for her long-term assignment. Also pray for strength as she says goodbyes and moves to her place of assignment to begin language study this January. She is the featured Text-to-Give missionary this week. Text PetraGive to 73256 and select AJ from the list at the link provided or click below.
Our Missionaries at Christmas

A card, gift card, or small package sent to Petra's missionaries during the Christmas season serves as a blessing and encouragement to them. A listing of Petra missionaries with their contact information is available for pick up at the Resource Hub, or here. Please remember to allow extra time for mail to get to international destinations; normal delivery time can take up to three weeks, and the holidays may delay that even more.
Missionary Meet & Greet

Next Sunday, December 18, at 1 p.m., Petra-sponsored Missionary, Tina Moore, will be in the Café for a special Meet & Greet! Enjoy cookies and a time of fellowship where you can hear all about her work in Guatemala with Orphan Resources’ Steps of Hope Program. She looks forward to seeing you there!
