This Sunday is Baptism Sunday! Come join us in celebration as 14 brothers & sisters in Christ make a public declaration to live their lives for Jesus! Lead Pastor Brian Coles will also be continuing our three-part series, The Path, with a message titled "The Art of Persuasion."

BELONG: The Journey will not be meeting this Sunday. Also, there will be no Children's Church for kids in K-Grade 4; they will be joining their parents in the Sanctuary.

Understanding Gender and Sexuality Seminar Series

Last Sunday evening, we launched our three-week seminar series, “Understanding Gender and Sexuality." As progressive sexual ethics are saturating our culture, we wanted to have a church-wide conversation that will equip you with a few answers and resources to know how to address and respond compassionately to these complicated issues.

Hulvey Live in Concert: Featuring The Young Escape + Rare of Breed

Next Friday! Christian Hip Hop artist Hulvey, Christian Electronic Pop Band The Young Escape, and Christian Country Hip Hop artist Rare of Breed will be live in concert at Petra next Friday, November 18, from 7 - 10 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Christmas Decorating

Do you love Christmas and decorating for it? We are looking for many volunteers to help us transform our church for the holiday season on Thursday, December 1, beginning at 8 a.m. Whatever time frame you are able to come, is very appreciated! Next week, November 14-21, is the National Collection Week for Operation Christmas Child and Petra is one of the prime Drop-Off Center locations. This year, our Drop-Off Center Hours are:

Monday, November 14: 12 p.m. – 3 p.m.

Tuesday, November 15: 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Wednesday, November 16: 12 p.m. – 3 p.m.

Thursday, November 17: 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Student Ministries

The Rally

Coming next weekend! You will not want to miss The Rally; a regional all-night event for high school and middle school (6th-12th grade) students happening next Friday and Saturday, November 18-19 from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.! It starts at Petra with a live concert by Christian Hip Hop artist Hulvey, Christian Electronic Pop Band, The Young Escape, and Christian Country Hip Hop Artist Rare of Breed. The all-nighter also includes games, giveaways, worship, and teaching. Following that portion of the night, everyone will head to Spooky Nook, where the fun continues with activities such as rock climbing, arcades, sports, and movies. The event concludes at 7 a.m. after breakfast at Shady Maple Smorgasbord. The cost is $60 per student. Invite your friends and register now!

Turkey Bowl Flag Football Competition

This Weekend! The Wake is hosting a “Turkey Bowl”… aka Flag Football Tournament this Saturday, at 9 a.m. on the Petra Fields. Are you between the ages of 18 and 28 and looking for a fun dinner party this holiday season?? The Wake invites you to a Friendsgiving next Thursday, November 17, at 7 p.m. in the Oasis. Join us for a time of community, games, and of course…turkey! Invite a friend and bring your favorite holiday dish to share. We can’t wait to see you at this holiday extravaganza!

Men's Breakfast

All guys 13 and up are invited to our Men's Breakfast in the Banquet Room at Shady Maple next Saturday, November 19, at 7 a.m. Pastor Ken Reinford will be sharing with the group. Ken has served as Petra Pastor since 2005 and currently serves as Executive Pastor of Ministries and Care. He also serves on the Elder Team. Ken’s wife Rachel passed away in 2002. His two children are married. He is enjoying the grandparenting stage of life with nine grandkids and many more who call him grandpa. His passion is to see every man living a godly life, free from bondage, honoring and respecting his wife and children. This has led him into many spiritual fathering relationships. He also leads a ministry called Father’s Heart, a residential support home for guys who are needing a fresh start. The cost of the breakfast buffet is $10; please pay onsite.

Lipstick & Crayons

You are invited to join us this Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. in the Oasis, as 2 of our own, Randi Kelley and Amber Carvajal share their testimonies of God’s faithfulness in their lives. We hope to see you there!

Lipstick and Crayons is a program designed for women of all ages and walks of life, with a special focus on mothers. Childcare is available for children through Grade 6.

Senior Adult Game Night

All Senior Adults (62+) are invited to a Game Night at Petra this Saturday at 6 p.m. Come for a night of corn hole, table games, and lots of fun and fellowship! Snacks and drinks will be provided. Feel free to bring table games. No need to register, just come on out!

Gift Card Collection Drive for CrossNet Families

The Senior Adults are doing a Gift Card Collection Drive for families with older children served by CrossNet Ministries. For Christmas, CrossNet hands out gift cards to older children rather than trying to guess and purchase things they may not want/need.

Beginning this Sunday, there will be a decorated shoe box located in the West Lobby where you can drop your gift cards. Gift cards of any amount for places like Walmart and Target, and Visa gift cards are great! The shoebox will be available until Sunday, December 4.

Refugee Connect

THIS WEEK ONLY Refugee Connect is collecting baby items to bless an Afghani refugee family preparing to welcome their baby any day.

Needs Include: Diapers, wipes, baby blankets, clothing (neutral colors), hooded infant bath towel, and bathing supplies.

Please contact Kris Flewelling if you’re interested in donating any baby items. Donations can be dropped off at the West Hub this Sunday morning.

Global Missions

Mission Prayer Focus

Pastors Mario & Jeanette Araya serve as part-time Petra missionaries, overseeing Peniel Ministries. This ministry ministers to Spanish-speaking people. Much of their ministry is with churches in Central America. Pray for God’s wisdom and provision in their ministry as they provide counsel to and equip Spanish-speaking church leaders and others in the community. Pray especially for God’s anointing over the next few days as they spend time in Costa Rica at a leader's conference, ministering to churches there.

Instep Ministries International Fundraising Banquet

Join us for Instep Ministries International Annual Fundraising Banquet on Thursday, December 1 at Shady Maple Banquet Rooms beginning at 6:15 p.m. Petra Missionaries, Darryl & Joyce Henson, will inform you of their latest mission activity in Europe, Eastern Europe and the Balkans. Guest speaker, Steve Shank, is the Strategic Coach serving at HarvestNet International. Throughout the evening there will be worship music, a delicious buffet meal, and a time of sharing ways in which you can participate in the ministry of Instep. Join us next Sunday for ham balls, mashed potatoes, and BBQ green beans at a fundraiser meal in support of our Encounter Ministry as they are doing a short-term mission trip to Kenya to serve in construction projects and evangelism assignments from January 27 - February 10! Winter FREEDOM Conference

This is your chance! If you are currently in a FREEDOM group or were unable to make it to our Spring FREEDOM Conference, this is your chance to experience powerful prayer, encouragement, and healing at our Winter FREEDOM Conference on December 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The cost is $25 per person. The DOVE Global Leadership and Ministry School will offer its third weekend intensive at Petra tomorrow (Friday) at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday at 8:30 a.m. The theme is “Helping People Find Freedom." The cost for each weekend intensive is $125 per person or $215 per married couple. If you would like to attend the classes this weekend only, you may register and pay at the door.
