Empowered is a special word for us here at Petra, not only because it's our theme for 2024 but also because it's the core of our mission as a church community!  As we freely give to others what Jesus has given to us, the Holy Spirit empowers each one of us to bring Jesus' love, healing, and hope to our community and the world!

For the next few weeks, we thought it would be fun to have t-shirts and crewnecks available for purchase that remind us of this beautiful truth and can serve as a conversation starter as you testify what God has done in your life to those around you. Kids' Palm Sunday Choir

Elementary Kingdom Kids (Kindergarten-Grade 4) are invited to sing in a “Palm Sunday” children's choir on Sunday, March 24!

Practice Dates are February 25, March 3, and March 10. Please ensure your child will be able to attend all 3 practices! Practices are on Sunday mornings during the service. Children only need to attend the practices at the 9 or 11 a.m. service, NOT both. The time commitment on Palm Sunday is 8:45-11:30 a.m., and we ask that your child is present for both services.

High School Winter Retreat

High School Students, don’t miss a weekend of powerful worship, testimonies, and community at our Winter Retreat at Refreshing Mountain! Drop off is at Refreshing Mountain at 6 p.m. on Friday, February 23, and pick up is at Refreshing Mountain at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 25. This year, our theme is “Refocus,” based on Colossians 3:2. Cost is $125 per student. Register below.

Bible Quizzing

This Sunday, Bible Quizzing will be held at Maple Grove beginning at 2:00 p.m. The focus is on Luke Chapter 7 through Luke 8:39.

Thrive: Petra Women's Mentoring

Petra Women is launching a Mentoring Ministry for women of all ages who want to grow spiritually and reach their God-given potential through the support, encouragement, and resources given by other women who have been in the season you’re in. If you want to become a Mentor or Mentee, find more information below!

Men of Iron

To all of our Petra Men, we’ve got mentorship opportunities for you too! Men of Iron’s Strong27 mentorships are designed for every man who desires accountability, balance, and spiritual growth. Strong27 requires a 12-month commitment with 2 monthly meetings, providing you the best opportunity to Know God, Know Your Purpose, and Know Each Other. There is a mentorship training camp at Petra on Saturday, March 9, where you can begin your Strong27 journey as a Protégé or Mentor. For more information on this opportunity, see below.

Men's Breakfast

All guys 13+ are invited to join us for community, food, and a testimony on Saturday, February 17, at 7 a.m. Petra’s Encounter Pastor, Elmer (Dutch) Fisher, will share about Kingdom Business and how you can live with a Kingdom mindset.

Dutch and Rosa have six children, and in his free time, Dutch loves to bike, fish, hunt, and go on family vacations. Dutch is passionate about seeing chains broken off, hearts restored, and people set free, just as his life verse, Isaiah 61:1, proclaims. He loves to see young men and women finally experience the goodness of our Father!

Regions A & C Game Night

Tired of the long Winter doldrums? Everyone who lives in Regions A & C (New Holland East/West and the surrounding area, including East Earl) is invited to an evening of games, food, and fellowship next Friday, February 16, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. in the Petra Café! Pizza and drinks will be provided. Please bring a snack or side dish to share.

Baby Bottle Boomerang

This Sunday is the last day to drop off baby bottles for Align Life Ministries! Drop off your filled bottles at our East or West Hub. If you have an empty baby bottle, please return that as well so Align can reuse it.

DOVE Global

The DOVE Global Leadership and Ministry School will offer its "Advanced Ministry Skills" session tomorrow (Friday) at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday at 8:30 a.m. Each weekend intensive is $125 per person or $215 per married couple. If you would like to attend the classes this weekend only, you may register below and pay at the door. See below for more info!
