Fundraiser Meal-CANCELED
Please note that the chicken BBQ fundraiser meal for Arlen and Keturah King with Missionary Ventures has been CANCELED for this Sunday, August 14, due to unforeseen circumstances. There will be no fundraiser meal this Sunday.

If you are a guy 12 or older that enjoys having fun and eating BBQ chicken and hotdogs, don't miss Guys’ Night Out at Petra on Friday, August 26, from 6 to 10 p.m.! Spend the evening in community with other guys or get active with volleyball, pool, archery tag, and ultimate frisbee. This year we will also be having a cornhole tournament beginning at 7:30 p.m. Register for the tournament below. This event will be mostly outdoors with food served in the Gym. Please bring lawn chairs to sit on. There’s no need to register unless you're playing cornhole; just come on out and bring a friend! Donations will be received at the event. |

Sunday Funday
Student Ministries is kicking off the new year with special events at Petra on Sunday, August 28, from 12:30 to
3 p.m. Everyone in EDGE 56 and EDGE 78 is invited to Sunday Funday, which offers a pizza lunch, games, water activities, and fun with friends and leaders.

Parents of students in 5th-12th grade are encouraged to join us in the Oasis at 12:30 p.m. for a brief meeting with important information about the coming year.

Sunday Hangout

The 2022 High School Fall Retreat is happening September 9-11 at Refreshing Mountain! Students should be dropped off at Refreshing Mountain at 6:00 p.m. Friday and picked up at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. It will be a great weekend connecting with friends and leaders, worshiping, learning through impactful teaching times, and fun activities as a High School family! Register below by Thursday, August 25. |

Fourth Grade Graduation
Takes place on Sunday, August 28, as the children transition from Kingdom Kids to EDGE 56. Parents of fourth graders are welcome to join their child upstairs after check-in. The service will last approximately 40 minutes. The fourth graders will then head to the fifth-grade room to meet their
EDGE 56 leaders!

Step-Up Day
It's already that time of year! Step-Up day is the day when all Early Childhood and Elementary children move up to their new classes. This year, Step-Up Day will take place on Sunday, September 4.

We need YOU!
Have you ever experienced the blessing of our Kingdom Kids Ministry? Here at Petra Church, we serve over 250 kids every Sunday...and we continue to grow! Thanks to our incredible team of volunteers, parents like you can enjoy our Sunday morning service while your child is taken care of and empowered to love Jesus and live for him. To continue blessing you, and all the parents in our congregation, we need volunteers to serve just 13 Sundays a year in our childhood classrooms.
If you already know the classroom just isn’t the place for you, we totally understand! There are other opportunities for you to serve: as a check-out attendant after the service; as a safety team member helping to keep our kids safe; someone to check in and resource our visiting families; or as a super-valuable SNAP buddy.

The Petra Food Bank operates out of 548 Ranck Rd, New Holland, PA. The Food Bank is open to those needing assistance from the Elanco School District or the Petra congregation.
|

Help Needed!
The Petra Food Bank is currently looking for a Distribution Coordinator on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 2:30-8 p.m. They are also looking for volunteers to help pass out food in the evenings. Those time slots are one Wednesday a month from 3-5 p.m. or 5-8 p.m. OR one Thursday a month from 5-8 p.m. If you are interested in any of these positions, please contact Mike Steffy for more information.

EHOP Fundraiser Auction
Mark your calendars for the upcoming EHOP (Eastgate House of Prayer) Fundraiser Auction on Friday, September 30, in the Petra Church Gym! Food stands open at 5:30 p.m., and the auction begins at 6 p.m.
Donations of new and gently used items are needed. If you would like to donate, please contact Pete Sensenig. If you have any questions or are interested in volunteering for this event, please contact Michelle Esh.

Mission Prayer Focus
Alan and Carol Wert and their family serve as Petra missionaries with Eastern Mennonite Missions in Wales. They serve alongside local churches in various forms of equipping and community outreach in a multi-cultural urban setting. Pray for them as they return to Wales in the coming week after spending some time in PA reconnecting with family, friends, and supporters. Pray for God’s anointing and wisdom as they seek to be the salt and light, sharing God’s love to those in their community, and in small group ministry at their local church. Also, pray for their youngest son, Brenin, as he transitions to life in the States at a university in Ohio.
