It's here! The Christmas Season has arrived, and we're excited to welcome it with a new series titled "The Gift: Our Matchless Treasure." Throughout the next 4 weeks, we'll discover God’s overwhelming generosity through his solution of giving his son as our salvation, light, justice, and presence.

This Sunday, Pastor Brian Flewelling will kick off this new series with a message titled “Salvation is Here.”

Christmas Card Exchange

Our annual Petra Family Christmas Card Exchange begins this Sunday! There are collection boxes in the Lobby and Atrium where you can drop off your cards. Please be sure to alphabetize and rubber-band the cards you drop off so we can easily sort them! Also please write the first AND last names of the people/families/couples you are addressing on the envelopes.

Don't forget to also pick up the Christmas Cards given to you from the appropriate boxes at the card display in the Atrium. A current list of all Petra members and regular attendees is available for pickup at the Resource Hub.

Christmas Photo Booths

Thinking about what to do for Christmas cards? We've got you covered! Set up in the North Hallway, Upper, Center, and Lower Atrium are Christmas photo booths where you can snap that perfect holiday picture! Bring your phone or camera between the Sunday services (10:15-11:10 a.m.) December 3, 10, or 17, and we’ll have someone available to take your picture at any of these 4 locations. If you post it, don't forget to tag us on social media!

New Regional Care Ministers

A big warm welcome to Chris and LouAnn Gonzalez, as they are our new Regional Care Ministers for Region A (East New Holland and the surrounding area, including East Earl). Chris and LouAnn live in New Holland and have two children. Welcome, Chris and LouAnn!

EDGE ACTION Christmas

EDGE ACTION Christmas is happening this Sunday and Monday for EDGE 56 & 78. EDGE 56 is partnering with City Gate to collect warm adult socks, and EDGE 78 is partnering with them to collect warm, cozy blankets for the homeless community. If your student(s) would like to contribute, please bring your donation of new warm adult socks or blankets this Sunday or Monday, and be prepared to pray over City Gate and the community they serve!

High School ACTION Christmas

Petra High School Students are raising money to send to a Hopewell Network Church in Mexico. This money will go towards purchasing a sound system and keyboard that will enable them to do village outreach. If you would like to financially support this project, please click below and designate your gift to ACTION Christmas by this Wednesday!

Bible Quizzing

Bible Quizzing is a fun program where students in seventh grade through age 20 can study scripture in a friendly and competitive environment. Practices will be on Thursday evenings beginning January 11. Sunday afternoon practices and matches run from January 21 to March 17. This year, we will be studying the gospel of Luke. Interested? Register below by Monday, December 11.

YA Christmas Party

If you are between the ages of 18 and 28 and are looking for a fun Christmas Party, this one's for you! Petra Young Adults is hosting an Ugly Sweater Contest for their Christmas Party on Thursday, December 14, at 7 p.m. in the Oasis. We invite you to bring a friend and join our young adult community for a night of friendly competition, special snacks, and Christmas Cheer! We hope you can make it!

Save the Date!

To all of our Petra Women who need a night set apart to encounter the Lord through worship, community, and a word, please mark your calendar for Friday evening, February 9! We are hosting a Women's Retreat at The Silk Mill in New Holland that includes dinner and encouragement from Guest Speaker Cheree Shenk. All women ages 16+ are invited to join this night of refreshment! More exciting details to come. We hope you can make it!

Lipstick & Crayons

You're invited to join us this Wednesday, December 6, at 9:15 a.m. in the Oasis, as our Worship Director, Crystal Martin, will be sharing how we can Build Kingdom Community through connections that are more about others and less about ourselves. We hope to see you there!

Lipstick and Crayons is a program designed for women of all ages and walks of life, with a special focus on mothers. Childcare is available for children through Grade 6.

Our Missionaries at Christmas

A card, gift card, or small package sent to Petra's missionaries during the Christmas season serves as such a blessing and encouragement to them. A listing of Petra missionaries with their contact information is available for pick up at the Resource Hub, or here. Please remember to allow extra time for mail to get to international destinations; normal delivery time can take up to three weeks, and the holidays may delay that even more.

Dove Global

The 2023-24 DOVE Global Leadership and Ministry School will offer its next weekend intensive next Friday evening and Saturday, December 8 and 9. The topic is “Revival, the Bible, and Church History." Each weekend intensive is $125 per person or $215 per married couple. If you would like to attend the classes that weekend only, you may register and pay at the door. See below for more info.
