Communion - We will be taking communion this Sunday! Please pick up your prepackaged communion elements from the table as you enter the Sanctuary or Balcony. All Kingdom Kids volunteers serving outside the Sanctuary are welcome to take communion in the SLC Staff Room. 

Celebrate With Us!

Plan to celebrate your Fourth of July here at Petra Church! Starting at 7:30 p.m., our fields will be open to the community to watch the New Holland Fireworks. Food and drinks will be available for purchase from Nice Size Fries Food Truck, Mr. Mini's Donuts, and Lickity-Split's Ice Cream Truck. Bring your lawn games, chairs, and blankets for a fun evening together! The fireworks will begin around 9:15 p.m.

VBS IS IN 4 DAYS!

It's almost here, and the excitement level is out of this world! Our 2023 Vacation Bible School runs next week - Monday through Friday - from 6:30 to 8:45 p.m. The theme is "Stellar: Shine Jesus' Light." Kids ages 4 through Grade 4 are going to love this incredible week of music, games, snacks, and faith discoveries! Online registration is now closed, but you can still register your kids onsite Monday night in the West Lobby.

• What to Expect - Registered kids, enter at the East Entrance and check in at the Kids’ Hub. Elementary kids will start each night of VBS in the Sanctuary with their peers, then travel through their rotation with games, a Bible story, and the Cosmic Café, where they will do a craft and snack. Preschoolers (ages 4 & 5) will also start off their evening in the Sanctuary and enjoy their own rotations of games, a Bible story, crafts, and a snack.

• VBS T-shirts - Children and VBS volunteers can pick up their T-Shirt in the Atrium this Sunday or any night at VBS. They are free!

• This year’s VBS offering will go towards ORI. Orphan Resources International aids children, who through no fault of their own, have found themselves orphaned and alone. They supply physical necessities, counseling, and work teams to help care for the children in Guatemalan orphanages.

• We can always use help with clean-up on Friday night!

Does your child love to read? If so, we're excited to announce that the Petra Student Library's Summer Reading Program is running now through August 6! It's open to any child from Pre-K through Grade 8 who wants to read more this summer. Sign up now in the Student Library!

NEW Women's Group

Looking to plug into a new group this summer? "The Shepherd with Me," by Jennifer Rothschild, is a new group for women 18+ who want to understand Psalm 23 in a new and powerful way. This group, led by Kim Glick, will meet Thursdays at 7 p.m. in the Belong room beginning June 22. Register below by next Sunday, June 18.

Our last breakfast of the season is next Saturday, June 17 at 7 a.m. at Shady Maple. All guys 13 and older are invited to come on out! This month, Les Yoder will be sharing his testimony. Les and his wife, Suzanne, live in Gap and are members of Petra Church. They have 2 sons and 2 grandkids. Les has spent his life in agriculture and was a partner in Homestead Nutrition, a local agribusiness serving customers in the mid-Atlantic region. He is currently the Founder and Executive Director of AgConnect Ministries. We look forward to seeing you there as we learn more about Les! The cost is $10; please pay onsite.

Mini Golf + Ice Cream Outing

If you're 62+ and would enjoy some fun and fellowship over a game of miniature golf this summer, join us at Waters Edge Mini Golf in Bird-in-Hand next Saturday, June 17, at 5:30 p.m. Following the game, we will enjoy ice cream in the snack area. You don't need to register, just come! Both the golf and ice cream are self-pay.

A Meal for Every Child

We just need 4 more volunteer slots filled! Petra is excited to partner with CrossNet Ministries again this year to ensure that every child in ELANCO has the opportunity to get a lunch over the summer months. We need 4 more volunteers who are willing to be at Petra to hand out bagged lunches to those in need.

The dates are Mondays and Thursdays from June 12 through August 17. (Except for one closure on June 19. That week we will serve lunch on June 20 instead.) The time is 10:45-11:45 a.m. Feel free to bring along a family member or friend. Thank you!
