Church-Wide Events
This Sunday is Mother's Day! Pastor Lester will be sharing a message called “Leading Together.” Pastor Lester’s recently-published booklet of the same name will be available to anyone who would like one at the tables in the Lobby and Atrium.
All women 18+ are invited to pick up a necklace handcrafted by Alicia Remlinger at the West and East entrances of the Sanctuary after each service.
BELONG: The Journey - The focus of BELONG this Sunday is on "Grow." Learn how to develop lifetime habits for spiritual growth and how to help others grow as well. Meet at 9:30 or 11:30 a.m. in the Oasis.

Eastgate House of Prayer - Join us this Tuesday at 7 p.m. for a Night of Devotional Worship led by Anna Landis and her team. Devotional Prayer and Worship sets are designed to provide an anointed atmosphere for meditating on Scripture and lingering in God's presence. Don't forget your Bible, journal, art supplies, or anything else you might want to bring as you soak in his presence. We will continue our focus on Psalms 1-2. Childcare is provided through age 7. All are welcome!

Senior Pastor Succession Update – As most of you know, within the next two years Pastor Lester will be transitioning out of his role as Senior Pastor. We have targeted 2019 as the year to identity his successor, followed by a year of transition. We are now ready to accept the resumes of people from within Petra for the Senior Pastor role. If interested, please submit your resume to Pastor Lester or Pastor Ken by May 17. Job descriptions are available upon request at the East and West Hub. Please keep this process in your prayers.

Hopewell Streams Newsletter - Among other stories, read two about Hopewell’s church plant in Thailand, including one written by Sarah Eby, who has been serving with CityLights Church over the past year. Pick up a copy in the Resource Center.
DOVE Hopewell Ministry Training - The theme of the training this weekend is "Reproducing Kingdom Communities," with a focus on small groups, evangelism, and the building of house churches. The sessions start tomorrow (Friday) at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday at 8:30 a.m. If you want to audit the classes, you may register at the door; the cost is $125 per person or $215 per married couple. Graduation will take place this Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Oasis.
First Responders Appreciation Sunday - We will be recognizing first responders on Sunday, June 2, as a way to convey our thanks for their courage, commitment, and extraordinary service. This is for both Petra and community people who serve as fire fighters, EMTs, law enforcement officers, and others who respond to emergency situations. First responders will receive free tickets to a Reading Phillies baseball game and be offered a pizza lunch after the 11 a.m. service.

Senior Adults
Senior adults (62+) are invited to a tour of Kreider Farms on Monday, May 20, with lunch afterward at Enck’s Catering. Experience the sights, sounds, and smells of a real, working dairy farm where 1,700 cows are milked three times every day! Meet at Petra at 9 a.m. to carpool. ELANCO Celebrate Recovery is continuing to thrive in a family-style environment of love, acceptance, and grace. It’s for everyone dealing with painful hurts, habits, and hang-ups. New volunteers and group leaders have enabled Celebrate Recovery to expand with “Step” study groups, which are small groups that go much deeper into a specific issue, and where in-depth healing and change take place. Join us Thursday evenings at 6 p.m. for dinner, 7 p.m. for large group teaching, and 8 p.m. for small group support. We meet in the Student Life Center in the Loft. All are welcome at any time!

Enjoy yard sales? Come to a FREE one next Saturday, May 18, from 7 to 11 a.m.! Drop off good-quality items you no longer need prior to the sale and then browse through the items on Saturday and take what you need! Sorry, we cannot accept appliances, computers, or TVs. Drop off your donations at the Gym next Thursday or Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you can help sort and organize the donations during those times, please contact Jaci Kulp at f . Lit ‘n Latte - Our final book group for the school year will be this Monday. We will start off with lunch at Isaac's in Ephrata at 11:30, followed by a time of service at the Material Resources Center from 1 to 3 p.m. Lit 'n Latte will resume in September.

Men's Breakfast - All guys age 13 and up are invited to a Men's Breakfast at Yoder's next Saturday, May 18, at 7 a.m. Brad Ortenzi will be sharing his remarkable journey. After four and a half years of serving with ZOE International in Thailand, Brad is now back in the area as ZOE’s Eastern USA Regional Director. Join us for the 2019 Men’s Spring Backpacking Trip from Friday, June 7, at 5:30 a.m. through Sunday, June 9, at 5 p.m. We’ll be hiking 25 miles of the Loyalsock Trail near the Worlds End State Park. The cost is $20 to cover transportation. You will have to supply your own gear and food. Register online or at the West Hub by May 27. Space is limited.
THE WAKE - Young Adults
Young Adult Mission Trip - Join us for our annual week of work and fun at Fair Haven Camps in the beautiful state of Maine. You'll have a blast while serving the Lord from June 23-29. Kingdom Kids
Vacation Bible School - Kids, get ready to roar! We're talking about VBS – this summer’s “mane” event. The theme is “Roar! Life is Wild . . . God is Good.” At Roar, kids age 4 through grade 5 will explore God’s goodness and celebrate a ferocious faith that powers them through this wild life. It'll run from Monday through Friday, June 10-14, from 6:30 to 8:45 p.m. Online registration begins this Sunday!
Remember, it takes 250 volunteers – both youth and adults – to reach 350 kids at VBS! Come on, join the team! It’s a lot of fun! Check out the display in the Atrium and grab a volunteer card.

Diaper Drive - THIS SUNDAY is the final day to drop off donations of diapers in support of Susquehanna Valley Pregnancy Services! Global Missions
Mission Prayer Focus - Bruce and Joyce Heckman serve as Petra missionaries with Immerge in Lancaster, helping to train and equip mission workers preparing for service among unreached peoples around the world. They also assist with outreach to local immigrant populations. Pray for God’s wisdom and guidance as they give leadership to the Immerge ministry. Pray also for provision – personally and for their ministry needs.

Pulled Pork Fundraiser Meal - Enjoy pulled pork sandwiches with coleslaw, pickles, chips, and dessert on Sunday, May 19, at 12:30 p.m. The proceeds will go toward Ben and Kayte Musselman, who serve as missionaries in Thailand with ZOE International, a ministry that combats human trafficking and serves people in need. Take-outs will be available after the 9 a.m. service.

Spring Banquet, InSTEP Ministries International - Missionaries Darryl and Joyce Henson, who mentor and train pastors and church leaders throughout Eastern Europe and Russia, invite everyone to their Annual Spring Banquet at Yoder’s on Wednesday, May 29, at 6:15 p.m. The guest speakers are Krzysztof and Amy Wisniewski from Prusczc Gdanski, Poland. Darryl and Joyce will also provide a vision update. There is no charge for the meal, but you will have an opportunity to give toward this ministry. Register here by May 26.

ZOE International – which exists to end child trafficking worldwide – is excited to be entering a team in the  2019 Race Across America . On June 15, eight ZOE team riders, including five from Petra, will set out with many other teams on a non-stop, 3,000-mile transcontinental relay race from the Pacific to the Atlantic. The ZOE riders and support team are ready to go, but they need financial partners to complete the mission. The fundraising goal is $150,000. Learn more below.
