Are you sensing a call to ministry? If so, the DOVE Global Leadership and Ministry School, in partnership with the Hopewell Network, is a great place to receive both knowledge and spiritual impartation. “Declaring God’s Goodness” is our theme for 2021 and also the theme for our Church-Wide Fast, set for January 18-24. Please set aside time in your schedule and in your heart for this significant experience. Plan now for a special session of EHOP on Tuesday, January 19; a Night of Worship on Friday, January 22; a Prayer Service on Saturday, January 23, and Communion on Sunday morning, January 24.

The specific focus for each fast day has been listed in a Family Prayer Guide, which is available for pick-up this Sunday from tables located at the Kids' Hub, West Lobby, and Atrium. Adult and kids' devotions are listed in separate sections of the booklet this year. The daily devotion will also be emailed to Petra attenders the evening prior to each fast day.

Local Outreach
2020 Christmas Outreach – Thanks to all those who purchased a gift on behalf of senior adults living at the Welsh Mountain Home or families served by the Good Samaritan Shelter.

From Welsh Mountain: I don't think words can illustrate the emotions that were displayed during the presentation of the gifts. It's been a lonely year for many. Welsh Mountain residents, the elderly, and those who are compromised need to feel the love of a larger body. Some at Petra might define this act as simple, but for those who need to feel love and acceptance, the gesture cannot be easily defined. “Thank you” truly doesn't cover it. To me it can only be illustrated as an act that would be portrayed by Jesus.

From Good Samaritan Shelter: Our participants were elated! Thanks so much for putting smiles on the kids’ faces. Everyone enjoyed the gifts. Some of the moms were crying. It was a beautiful moment for them.
Global Missions
Mission Prayer Focus - Bruce and Joyce Heckman serve as Petra missionaries with Immerge in Lancaster, helping to train and equip mission workers preparing for service among unreached peoples around the world. They also assist with outreach to local immigrant populations. Pray for God’s wisdom and guidance as they give leadership to the Immerge ministry. Pray also for provision – personally and for their ministry needs. They are the featured Text-to-Give missionaries this week. Text PetraGive to 73256 and select their name from the list at the link provided.
