Life on Mission Series – Senior Pastor Lester Zimmerman will be bringing us Part 5 of this series with a message entitled “Fully Devoted Followers.” Whether we are a parent, teacher, leader, or friend, we have the mission assignment of not only leading people to faith in Jesus but also helping them understand what it means to follow Jesus.

Water Baptism - If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, we encourage you to be baptized. Our next water baptism service is set for Sunday morning, November 17. If you're at least 10 years old and interested, please plan to attend a class either on November 3 at 9 a.m. or November 10 at 11 a.m. Register online or by using the bulletin flap.
New Regional Care Ministers - We are pleased to announce that Naaman and Sadie Shirk have been named Regional Care Ministers for Region G (Gap area). They had served as Assistant Regional Care Ministers since 2011. Naaman and Sadie live in Gap, and have three adult children. Our sincere thanks to John and Lois Glick, who have served lovingly and faithfully as part of the Region G Care Team since 2001.
New Young Adult Leaders - Andrew and Elisa Zeiset have assumed leadership of the Young Adult Ministry, THE WAKE. They have been actively involved in THE WAKE since its inception. Many profound thanks to the visionary founders and leaders of THE WAKE, Pastors Brian and Tracy Coles!

Hopewell Streams Newsletter - Read about a new Spanish church launched in Reamstown, the 2019 Hopewell Summer Camps, and the transition of Petra missionaries Nacho and Merrilee Barrera from Thailand, where they gave leadership to CityLights Church, to the States. Pick up a copy at the Resource Hub.
ACTIVATE School of Worship - Join us this Tuesday at 7 p.m. for Session 4 of our ACTIVATE School of Prayer. Anthony Esh will share on “Heaven’s Worship” and how our worship is a response and reflection of what is happening in heaven. Anthony is currently a part of the worship teams at both EHOP and Reading House of Prayer. The DOVE Hopewell Ministry Training tomorrow (Friday) evening and Saturday will focus on "Five-Fold Ministry and New Testament Leadership." Topics include Leadership and Decision-Making, Apostolic Growth, and Prophets and Prophetic Ministry. Partial scholarships for Petra attenders are available upon request. 2019 Petra Fall Fest
Petra Fall Fest - Invite your family, friends, and neighbors to the 2019 Petra Fall Fest on Saturday, October 26, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.! We'll have carnival games, crafts, inflatables, bonfires, French fries, whoopee pies, and much more! Our entertainment this year will be provided by Christian illusionist Brett A. Myers. Everyone is invited, and everything is free except for the purchase of Chick-fil-A sandwiches at $3 apiece and food from the Dough and Co food truck. Please take a moment to sign up online or in the Atrium to help with your favorite Fall Fest food or activity. We'll need hundreds of volunteers! Pick up a poster, if you wish, to display in your neighborhood or at your business.

Julie is the COO at Deeper Still Ministry, which is helping women find freedom from the oppressive guilt and shame that accompanies abortions.

Hopewell Network Conference
Join us for the 2019 Hopewell Network Conference next Friday, October 18, at Petra! The theme is “God of the Generations.” Come for great input from our guest speaker, Marc Estes, Lead Pastor of Mannahouse in Portland, OR. Pastor Marc’s topics are: Leading Generations, The Need for Generational Fathers, Values of Generational Leaders, and Faith for the Generations. The evening session, which runs from 6:30 to 8 p.m., is free and open to everyone. For the day sessions, register online or at the Resource Hub, where you can get a brochure with details.
Senior Adults
Senior adults (62+) are invited to a tour of the Wolf Sanctuary in Lititz this Saturday . Meet at Petra at 10:30 a.m. to carpool OR meet at the Sanctuary at 11:30. Please dress for the weather and wear good walking shoes. The cost is $11 per person. There’s no need to sign up; just come!

The Warring Women of Zion prayer group will not be meeting this Tuesday but will be back again on Tuesday, October 22, from 9-11 a.m. in the Prayer Room. The focus, through worship and intercession, is on women, youth, addictions, and revival. All women are welcome.

Petra Men
Men's Breakfast - All guys 13+ are invited to breakfast on Saturday, October 19, at 7 a.m. at Yoder's, where Richard Yoder will be sharing his story. Richard has been an educator for 50 years; he has taught at Quakertown Christian School, Boyertown Elementary School, and at LaSalle University, teaching teachers. Richard and Rachel have two children and seven grandchildren, and have been attending Petra for 14 years.
Local Outreach
Our next – and almost final – workday at the Petra Homestead Project will be on Saturday, October 19, from 7 a.m.-noon. We will be working on a number of miscellaneous small details, including some trim details, painting and caulking, cleaning out the attic and basement, installing lock sets and door stops, and lots of things that don't sound like much but get done faster with more people! Thank you to everyone who assisted with the meal outreach to the New Holland Fair workers last Thursday! Fifteen people helped with food prep and 20 others distributed meals. We were able to bless over 150 workers!
Global Missions
Mission Prayer Focus - Ben and Kayte Musselman and their family serve as Petra long-term missionaries in Thailand with ZOE International, a ministry that combats human trafficking and serves people in need in Northern Thailand. Pray for God’s peace, joy, and provision for their family as they serve.
Fundraiser Meal - How about some baked potatoes with chili, salad, and dessert? Come this Sunday at 12:30 p.m. for a fundraiser meal on behalf of Chris and April Zimmerman , Petra missionaries serving as part of the launch team for a new YWAM base in Lancaster County. They also give oversight to PA Mission Builders. Take-outs will be available at 10:30 a.m.

Fundraiser Meal - Enjoy authentic Spanish food at a fundraiser meal on Sunday, October 20, at 12:30 p.m. in support of Peniel Ministries, founded by Pastors Mario and Jeanette Araya . The menu includes a Puerto Rican favorite dish, roasted pork shoulder (pernil horneado), served with arros con gandules (Puerto Rican rice with pigeon peas), also white rice, beans, Mexican chicken, salad, and dessert. Take-outs will be available at 10:30 a.m.

Fundraiser Banquet - Come and hear the vision and updates of AABS (Africa Association of Bible Schools) at its Third Annual Banquet at Shady Maple on Monday, November 4, at 6 p.m. Hear testimonies from Bible School Directors, learn about the development of training centers in Ugandan Refugee Camps, and consider purchases through a silent auction. JC Ebersole serves as Executive Director. There is no cost to attend, but donations in support of AABS will be received. Service Opportunity, YWAM-Orlando Base - YWAM-Orlando will be hosting the Eastern North American Gathering on November 10-15, which attracts several hundred YWAMers. Would you be willing to serve for the week in one of these areas: kitchen and snack prep, facility and campus upkeep, or housekeeping? All volunteers will be offered free meals and housing, but will have to stay either in a tent, which YWAM will provide, or bring their own RV.
