Church-Wide Events
This Sunday is Student Ministries Sunday! Pastor Brian Coles will share a message called "Growing." Students from EDGE 56, EDGE 78, and High School, along with young adults from THE WAKE, will serve on the Worship Team and assist with other components of the service, such as greeting and ushering.

Songs - Open The Gates, Build My Life, Who You Say I Am, Anthem, You Pick Me Up
Sunday Morning Services - Although we've been meeting on-site for five weeks now, we realize that not everyone can make it to campus. We will continue to stream both services through the Petra App, Facebook, YouTube, and our website at www.petra.church/live . To listen to the service over the phone, dial 717-481-4068.
For details about Petra’s on-site opening plan , and our health and safety protocols for the Sunday services, please visit this webpage .
Petra's Exposure Policy - Petra’s leadership has updated its COVID-19 Exposure Policy. If you have tested positive for COVID-19 or have been around someone who has tested positive, please read the policy here . We appreciate your efforts to comply as we all do our part to create a safe environment for everyone. Thank you!
Fourth of July - Please note there will be no Saturday night prayer on the Fourth of July. The Church Office will be closed on Monday, July 6.
Succession Update - The Petra Elders assured the congregation on Sunday that the Senior Pastor Succession Plan is on target. January 3, 2021 has been designated as the Sunday when the Senior Pastor role will be officially transferred from Pastor Lester Zimmerman to Pastor Brian Coles. You can see the video announcement on our Senior Leadership Succession Update page here . A church-wide Appreciation Event to honor Pastors Lester and Erma for their 38 years of service to Petra has been set for Saturday, November 7, at 6 p.m.
Water baptism is a public proclamation of our desire to follow Jesus. It's for anyone at least 10 years old who desires to be baptized, including those who were too young to understand a previous baptism and those who made a re-commitment to the Lord and wish to be baptized a second time. Our next water baptism will take place at Petra on Sunday, July 19, at both the 9 and 11 a.m. services. If you desire to be water baptized, please register online and plan to attend an instructional class on either July 5 at 9 a.m. or July 12 at 11 a.m.
Eastgate House of Prayer
EHOP - Join us this Tuesday at 7 p.m. as Alicia Beiler and her team lead us in a time of Worship with the Word, using Psalm 145. Worship with the Word is a prayer format in which we agree with God’s heart as we sing through a biblical passage focusing on the truth of who God is and what his promises are. These times of worship create an atmosphere that is perfect for individual Bible study, meditating on the Lord, and personal and corporate prayer time. All are welcome!
Livestreaming via our EHOP Facebook page will be available for those who cannot yet join us in person. Although we are not yet able to offer childcare, we are tentatively hoping to resume it, along with ministry nights, in July.
EHOP is seeking additional adult and helper childcare workers for our equipping services on Tuesday nights from 7 to 9 p.m. These positions are paid, and require clearances. We can help with this process and cover the expense. If you are interested, please contact our Childcare Coordinator, Andrea Michener, at  ajm7772930@yahoo.com .
Petra Lifespring

Petra Prayer
Prayer Walks - With all the chaos and division happening in the world, you may have felt helpless or too small to make a difference. Well, do not believe it! You are a child of the living GOD! You have access to a way – the only way – to make a REAL difference in this world, in this region, and in your neighborhood.
Persistent prayer is the key to opening the power of heaven. Petra’s Prayer Ministry is inviting you, the Church, to invest in two prayer-walk ideas. Grab your family, grab some friends, or walk on your own.
  • Your Kingdom Come Prayer Walk is a time to pray for this nation, your region, and your city. Your prayers can move mountains! Starting around the Fourth of July and praying through the fall elections, take time weekly to pray and walk. Print this list of prayer points and pray as the Holy Spirit leads.
  • A Neighborhood Prayer Walk is a time to pray for God’s peace, healing, truth, and salvation for the people who live in your neighborhood. There are people near you who need Jesus. Your prayer can change lives. Print this list of prayer points and pray as the Holy Spirit leads.
For additional ideas and information, contact Pastor Darrel Martin at darrelm@petra.church .
Student Ministries
Gathering On Site Again! Our Middle School and High School Ministries have begun meeting at Petra again! EDGE 56 meets on the first and third Sundays of the month at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. and the second and fourth Mondays at 7 p.m. EDGE 78 meets every Monday at 7 p.m. High School meets every Wednesday at 7 p.m. Weather permitting, we will be gathering outside over the summer months. For those who feel more comfortable remaining at home at this time, we are continuing to offer an online worship and teaching experience. For questions, contact Tiffany Blitz at tiffanyb@petra.church .
Kingdom Kids
Parents, if you find yourself with an energetic toddler who is struggling to sit still during the Sunday morning service, you are welcome to bring that child to play in Room 301 in the SLC as you watch the service on the TV. This classroom is not staffed but is simply open for your use.
Local Outreach
4th of July Parking Lot Outreach - On Saturday, July 4, beginning at 7:30 p.m., we will be opening our parking lot and fields to the community to watch the New Holland Fireworks. Bottled water will be provided free; you'll be able to purchase hot dogs, nachos with cheese, chips, soda, and strawberry lemonade from a food truck. Proceeds from the sale of food will benefit missionaries Ben and Kayte Musselman. Sharon Smeltz can use a couple more volunteers to help pass out water. To help, please c all Sharon at 717-207-8143.
Global Missions
Mission Prayer Focus - Andrea Beiler has been serving as a Petra missionary on staff at the YWAM Redding base in California for the past couple of years and is preparing to complete her assignment and return to PA in the coming week. Pray for good closure as she says goodbye to staff and students at the YWAM base, and for God’s peace and direction as she prepares for this next season that God has in store for her.

Dedication, YWAM Lancaster - Everyone is invited to the upcoming dedication of YWAM Lancaster at 1932 West Main Street, Ephrata! Petra missionaries Chris and April Zimmerman have been serving on staff as part of the launch team for this new YWAM base. There will be two worship services prior to the dedication: one tonight (Thursday) and the other tomorrow (Friday) from 6 to 10 p.m. A Petra/Eastgate House of Prayer team will be leading the worship set on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. The official dedication ceremony will take place this Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. This ceremony will celebrate and consecrate YWAM Lancaster for the work the Lord is wanting to do both locally and globally.
Community Event
A community prayer vigil addressing racism will be hosted by the ELANCO Ministerium this Sunday, June 28, at 6 p.m. It will take place at the New Holland Community Park Band Stand at 400 East Jackson Street. We call on our community to join us in prayer, lament, and confession to the God who sent his only Son to redeem us from all expressions of prejudice and hatred and to reconcile us to himself and to one another in sibling love. All are welcome. Social distancing and masks are strongly encouraged.
