Church-Wide Events
This Sunday we will be starting church services on site for those who feel comfortable venturing out! The service times are 9 and 11 a.m. We will be opening in phases, adding more ministry as we go. There will be no Café or Children's Ministry in this opening phase.

For those who are sick, at risk, or feel uncomfortable attending on-site services at this time, we encourage and bless you to continue worshipping remotely! We will continue to offer streaming through the Petra App, Facebook, YouTube, and our website at www.petra.church/live . To listen to the service over the phone, dial 717-481-4068.

"Circling the Campus" Prayer Walk - Join us this Saturday at 12 noon as we circle the Petra campus to pray/intercede for God’s protection as we reopen for Sunday services. In this season of so much division and concern, we want to ask God to bring his peace and grace to our congregation and to the community. We will gather and pray rain or shine; dress appropriately for the weather. All prayer will be outside the building , in the parking lots and the fields. Meet at the East Entrance for instruction and a list of prayer points. Restrooms inside the East Entrance will be available from noon to 1 p.m. only. Once you receive the prayer points, feel free either to walk the property or to pray in your car, as the Lord leads you.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have had to postpone or cancel a number of significant events at Petra this spring and summer:

  • VBS has been postponed to a later date, possibly in August – to be confirmed.

  • Child Dedication has been postponed to August 30.

  • Our First Responders Appreciation Day has been cancelled.

  • The Free Yard Sale hosted by Petra Women has been cancelled.

  • All Hopewell Summer Camps at Tel Hai – the Senior High, Junior High, and Kids’ Camps – have been cancelled.

Night of Worship - Join us on Friday, June 12, at 7 p.m. for a powerful Night of Worship! The theme is “Victory – The Battle Is Already Won.”
Eastgate House of Prayer
We are excited to announce that EHOP will be meeting together on site beginning this Tuesday, May 26, at 7 p.m.! This is for all those who feel comfortable venturing out. For those not yet ready or able to join us, we will be livestreaming our gathering via our EHOP Facebook page.

As a ministry of Petra Church, we will be opening in phases and following the same guidelines. In phase one, there will be no childcare available. Masks are optional but recommended. We will have water bottles available in lieu of our normal snacks and coffee. Ultimately, we want to love and honor each other through this process.

Worship will be led by Anthony Esh and intercession by Jonathan Martin. We look forward to seeing many of you again face to face. All are welcome!
Petra Groups
Beginning the week of June 7, we will be starting two summer-term groups at Petra: 7 Challenges Men Face for men and Psalm 23: The Shepherd With Me for women. See group descriptions under Petra Men and Petra Women below.
Support Group
Petra Home School Support Group registration forms are now available for the 2020-21 school year. If you are interested, please contact Cynthia Blank at 717-824-0747, Janelle Reitz at 717-875-9138, or Melanie Mohler at 717-517-2261 no later than June 1.
Petra Women
Petra Group - Many women know Psalm 23 by heart but haven't experienced its power in their lives. In this video teaching series by Jennifer Rothschild, you will gain fresh insight into – and encouragement from – Psalm 23, exploring the depths of God's compassionate care. Join us in the Café on Thursday evenings at 7 p.m., beginning June 11. The cost is $14. Register online.
Petra Men
Petra Group - It's getting more challenging to be a man. Our present culture is redefining manhood and confusing men in their pursuit of biblical manhood. This seven-week course will give you the resources you need to make changes that will impact every area of your life. It will be led in the Summit by Pastor Matt Kauffman on Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m., beginning June 9. The cost is $10. Register online.
Global Missions
Mission Prayer Focus - Pray for Daniel and Jamie Jones and their two children, who serve as Petra missionaries with Intervarsity Christian Fellowship in Toronto, Canada. Pray for God’s anointing and creativity as Daniel develops resources and training in worship and the arts to advance God’s Kingdom among university students. Pray for refreshment as responsibilities with the spring semester wrap up, and for wisdom and creativity as they work on plans for the fall semester.

Zoom Gathering, Petra Missionary - Even though Missions Sunday has already taken place, you can still hear some live updates by our missionaries and interact with them through the month of May. Each meeting lasts approximately 40 minutes. Here is the online gathering set for this weekend:

  • Sunday, May 24, at 7 p.m.Andrea Beiler, who serves on staff at the YWAM Redding base in California. Here is the Zoom link.
New Harvest Field Ministry
Father's Heart Ministry - Pastor Ken Reinford is launching a new Harvest Field ministry called Father’s Heart. It is a residential program supporting young men in their recovery and healing journeys. The house, at 74 Diller Avenue in New Holland, is in need of some serious renovation this month. We have set a volunteer work day this Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Volunteers are needed for cleaning, plumbing, painting, flooring, and landscaping. It would be helpful if you could bring small tools and a toolbelt for construction. In addition, if you would be willing to work any other day over the next few weeks, please make arrangements with Matt Kauffman at mattk@petra.church or 717-723-2808.

Can you invest financially into these renovations? Donations can be mailed to Harvest Field Ministries, 565 Airport Road, New Holland 17557. You can also give online at petra.church/give ; choose “OTHER” and note “Father’s Heart Ministry.” Thank you!
