Regional Care Ministry - Rich and Betty Esh, who have served as Regional Care Ministers for Region I for 16 years, are stepping out of that role. They have been a blessing to many people at Petra. Their hearts of compassion and love for people are contagious. We deeply appreciate the sacrifices they have made over the years to serve others.

Child Dedication - If you would like to dedicate your child to the Lord on Sunday, May 30, please register online or call the church office by May 21.
Missions Sunday
We will be celebrating Missions Sunday over two Sundays this year: on May 16, with a focus on Local Outreach, and on May 23, with a focus on Global Missions. Plan now for inspiring messages, lots of displays, missionary Zoom calls, and the assembling of global relief kits by our elementary kids. Our speaker on May 16 is Tracy Coles, Petra’s Local Outreach Pastor. Our speaker on May 23 is Peter Greer, President and CEO of Hope International.
In conjunction with our Missions Sundays, we will be hosting several Zoom calls with Petra missionaries! Tune in this Sunday, May 2, at 4 p.m. to hear live updates about how God is moving around the world through the ministries of Darryl and Joyce Henson, serving with InSTEP Ministries, and Bruce and Joyce Heckman, serving with Immerge. Each couple will share approximately 20 minutes. Click on the Zoom link here. If you have the Zoom App, use the meeting ID 876 8987 1381.
Eastgate House of Prayer
EHOP - Join us this Tuesday at 7 p.m. as Miranda Zook and her team lead us in a time of Worship with the Word. Worship with the Word is a prayer format in which we agree with God’s heart as we sing through a biblical passage, focusing on the truth of who God is and what his promises are. This week we will also offer healing and prophetic ministry; simply sign in when you arrive. Our trained team is excited and prepared to minister to you! Childcare is provided through age 7. All are welcome!
Petra Prayer
Saturday Night Prayer - You can make a difference in the life of the church by praying for Petra and the people who attend. You are invited to be a part of what God is doing in our midst. Join us in the Sanctuary every Saturday from 8-9 p.m. Unable to come in person? Join us through Zoom. If you have the Zoom App, use the meeting ID 495 378 0436.
Petra Women
Lipstick and Crayons – Join us for our Season Finale as we wrap up the 2020-21 season! It's this Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. We’ll have a build-your-own burrito breakfast with a couple of games and plenty of time to connect. Weather permitting, we’ll meet on the patio, but please enter through the East Entrance as usual. Childcare is provided for all children from infants on up. Drop-off begins at 9:15.
Student Ministries
Mulch Fundraiser – If you missed the delivery of mulch earlier in April, don’t worry! The youth are still selling premium black or brown mulch online through this Sunday, May 2, for the May 7 and 8 delivery dates. The proceeds will go toward the High School mission trips this summer. Mulch is available for $45 a yard, with spreading available upon request. For questions, email Tiffany at
Kingdom Kids
Vacation Bible School - Kids, get ready for an epic adventure at our “Treasured” VBS this summer as you discover how precious you are to your Heavenly Father! All kids from age 4 through Grade 4 are invited to an incredible week of music, games, snacks, and amazing faith discoveries. VBS will run from Monday through Friday, June 7-11 from 6:30-8:45 p.m. Registration begins this Sunday! Register online or at the Kids’ Hub.

Remember, it takes a team of 250 volunteers – both youth and adults – to pour into the lives of these kids at VBS! We’ve already had an awesome response of 128 people! We still need 112 volunteers – 52 elementary crew guides, 1 nurse, 2 prayer intercessors, 3 check-out people, and 33 substitutes. Check out the display in the Atrium and let’s work together to clear that board!
Local Outreach
Gardeners - If this warm weather is stirring your desire to rent a garden plot, we suggest you apply as soon as possible. The gardens are located along Ranck Road a bit north of Airport Road. We have both raised beds and in-ground plots of various sizes, most for an annual cost of $15. Those interested can register online, at the Resource Hub, or at the Church Office. Visit this page for detailed information.
Global Missions
Mission Prayer Focus - Nacho and Merrilee Barrera and their family serve as Petra missionaries with Hopewell Asia Missions, providing discipleship and leadership coaching to indigenous believers at CityLights Church in Thailand. Due to COVID restrictions, they are still relating to the church in Thailand from a USA base. Pray for God’s wisdom and anointing as they offer long-distance coaching, support, and encouragement to the CityLights believers. Pray also for clarity as they seek to discern God’s leading in this time of uncertainty due to the COVID restrictions.
Fundraising Banquet – Preparing the Way Ministries, founded by Randy and Bonnie Martin, will be hosting its third annual banquet at Warehouse 100 (100 Franklin Street, New Holland) on Saturday, May 15, at 6 p.m. Everyone is invited to enjoy Shady Maple food, visit with Randy and Bonnie, and hear stories of what God is doing in East Africa and the nations. An authentic African choir will be leading the group in Swahili worship. Please RSVP at this website by May 7.
ZOE International, which exists to end child trafficking worldwide, is excited once again to be entering a team in the 2021 Race Across America. On June 19, eight ZOE team riders - including five from Petra - will set out with many other teams on a non-stop, 3,000-mile transcontinental relay race from the Pacific to the Atlantic. The ZOE riders and support team are ready to go, but they need financial partners to complete the mission. The fundraising goal is $250.000. To learn more, visit this website.
The 2021 National Day of Prayer will take place next Thursday, May 6. The theme is "Lord, Pour Out Your Love, Life, and Liberty." Everyone is invited to a county-wide Celebration of Prayer and Worship that day from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Calvary Church. Visit this website for more information.

Circuit Riders, a ministry of Youth with a Mission, will be bringing its Jesus People Tour to Lancaster County in mid-May. The Circuit Riders team, along with local believers, will be saturating our area with practical acts of love and sharing the Gospel of Jesus. The tour will culminate in two large, open-air gatherings for worship, preaching the Gospel, and activating believers to live like Jesus did. These gatherings will take place in the Petra Fields on May 14 and 15 at 6:30 p.m. For more info, and for free tickets to the Friday and Saturday night gatherings, visit this website.
