Church-Wide Events
We’re back on site! After ten weeks of offering strictly online services as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Petra opened its doors last Sunday to roughly 400 people each service who willingly practiced social distancing and other health and safety protocols. Some of the words used to describe this historic occasion were powerful, meaningful, and joyful! From Pastor Lester: “I’m so grateful we could gather on Sunday, and I look forward to when we can all be together again!”
This Sunday again we will be offering services on site for those who feel comfortable venturing out. The service times are 9 and 11 a.m. We will be opening in phases, adding more ministry as we go. There will be no Café or Children's Ministry in this opening phase.

For those who are sick, at risk, or feel uncomfortable attending on-site services at this time, we encourage and bless you to continue worshipping remotely! We will continue to offer streaming through the Petra App, Facebook, YouTube, and our website at www.petra.church/live . To listen to the service over the phone, dial 717-481-4068.

For details about Petra’s on-site opening plan, and our health and safety protocols for the Sunday services, please visit this webpage .
Message - The Kingdom comes dressed in the clothing of the people we least expect. Let's beware of our mindsets and prejudices! Join us this Sunday as Pastor Brian Flewelling shares a message called "What Little Kids Know That Adults Do Not."

BELONG: The Journey will not be offered this Sunday.

Songs: Nothing Is Impossible, God You’re So Good, Holy Spirit, King Of Kings, You Cannot Be Stopped
Night of Worship - Join us on Friday, June 12, at 7 p.m. for a powerful Night of Worship! The theme is “Victory – The Battle Is Already Won.” We will choose to praise the Lord whether we’ve seen our breakthrough yet or not, knowing he has the victory. No childcare or Café services will be provided that night.
New Tech Position Open – We are looking for a few volunteers to serve once a month in a new position on the Petra Tech Team. This person will be responsible for the web streams on Sunday morning. Simple computer skills are required for this position. Please contact Ron Esh if interested at rone@petra.church .
Eastgate House of Prayer
Join us in the Oasis this Tuesday at 7 p.m. as we Worship with the Word , using Psalm 24 as our biblical passage. Kristina Flewelling and her team will lead us. This prayer format creates an atmosphere that is perfect for individual Bible study, meditating on the Lord, and personal and corporate prayer time. We will not be offering prophetic or healing ministry this week. All are welcome!

For those not yet ready or able to join us in person, we will continue to livestream our gathering via our EHOP Facebook page.

Just a reminder that there will be no childcare available on Tuesday night as we continue to follow Petra's Phase One reopening guidelines.
Prayer
Online Prayer Together – We will continue to meet via Zoom on Saturday evenings from 8 to 9 p.m. until further notice. This has been a great way for people to pray with leadership and to intercede for our church family. Give it a try by joining here on Saturday evening.

A women’s monthly prayer group called First Fire Starters will begin this Monday, June 1, at 8:30 a.m. in the Prayer Room (North 121). Enter using the Northeast Entrance. This group, led by Kristi Martin, will focus on scripture and intercession for the Body of Christ. All women are welcome!
Petra Groups
Beginning the week of June 7, we will be starting two summer-term groups at Petra: 7 Challenges Men Face for men and Psalm 23: The Shepherd With Me for women. See group descriptions below.
Petra Women
Petra Group - Many women know Psalm 23 by heart but haven't experienced its power in their lives. In this video teaching series by Jennifer Rothschild, you will gain fresh insight into – and encouragement from – Psalm 23, exploring the depths of God's compassionate care. Join us in the Café on Thursday evenings at 7 p.m., beginning June 11. The cost is $14. Register online.
Petra Men
Petra Group - It's getting more challenging to be a man. Our present culture is redefining manhood and confusing men in their pursuit of biblical manhood. This seven-week course will give you the resources you need to make changes that will impact every area of your life. It will be led in the Summit by Pastor Matt Kauffman on Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m., beginning June 9. The cost is $10. Register online.
Student Ministries
Mission Trips Cancelled - After much prayer, discussion, and discernment, Student Ministries has decided to cancel all mission trips this summer. This includes the EDGE 78 K-Team to Millersville and the High School teams to Orlando, Panama, and Barbados. Our heart is to ensure the utmost safety of our students and leaders. All fundraising money will be held in students’ names for the same trips next year. Please see your Student Ministries newsletter this evening for details. For questions, contact Pastors Brian or Tracy .
Global Missions
Mission Prayer Focus - Trevor and Leah Derr and their son serve as Petra missionaries in Indonesia with Kairos Global, where they focus on making disciples through prayer, training, and church planting. Pray for wisdom as they adapt some of their ministry plans and respond to new open doors for ministry brought about by COVID-19. Pray for continued release of provision in their ministry.
