What I saw on the ground was worse than you can imagine as migrants sweltered in a shantytown under 100-degree heat. The conditions were horrifically unsanitary.

The vast majority were military aged males, but I also spoke to children, families, and pregnant mothers. Several due to go into labor within the next few days.

Del Rio is crippling under the pressure. I stood with the Democrat mayor as he literally begged Biden for help. What’s happening to their community underscores the real human cost to President Biden’s weak border policies. It is a tragedy, and it is completely preventable, but the Biden Administration is choosing to lie, deny, and avoid the crisis.

The Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas himself told me this week that the border is "secure"—just days after I personally saw the 15,000 migrants living in squalor in Del Rio.

The Biden Administration wants the American people to believe their lies and not our own eyes.

I am fighting tooth and nail for border security. If Democrats are going to continue to ignore this crisis, I am going to make sure the American people know about it.

Just yesterday, I led an effort to force the border security bill I helped introduce to the House Floor, and every single Democrat voted to block it.

This bill would resume construction on the border wall and provide Customs & Border Protection (CBP) with additional resources and personnel to secure our nation’s borders and prioritize the safety of the American people.

I’ve also introduced legislation to reimburse border states for the costs they are shouldering due to the crisis, as well as a bill to reimburse farmers and ranchers for the damages and vandalism on their property. 
Voted Against the Democrats' Nationwide Abortion-On-Demand Bill

It is heartbreaking to imagine, but Nancy Pelosi and her Democrat-majority in the House have passed a bill to legalize abortion up until birth nationwide. Removing all pro-life protections for the unborn makes the United States one of the few countries in the world—alongside China and North Korea—to allow elective abortions until birth.

This grotesque bill dismantles all efforts of Texas lawmakers to protect unborn babies and violates the consciences of the vast majority of Americans who support life and are completely opposed to their taxpayer dollars going to fund abortions.

Ever life is precious. I am unapologetically pro-life and stand ready to give my voice to the voiceless and do everything in my reach to ensure this bill never becomes law.
Voted NO on Raising the Debt Ceiling

Tuesday, House Democrats passed a Continuing Resolution that would fund the government through December 3, 2021 and suspend the debt limit until Dec. 16th, 2022.
I proudly voted against this legislation, which would effectively provide a blank check for President Biden and Speaker Pelosi to spend trillions of dollars in Green New Deal policies. 

If enacted, Democrats will have added $13 trillion in NEW spending since they took control of the U.S. House in 2019.

If Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer want to pursue partisan social legislation, which they admit will fundamentally change our country and add trillions to our debt, then they will have to increase the debt limit on their own. I am not going to greenlight more spending that will only fuel inflation and increase the cost of living for American families.  

We don’t need more taxes–we need to tackle Congresses’ impulse to spend money without regard to our long-term economic health.  

I also spoke out on the House Floor against another of the Democrats horribly harmful initiatives–$3.5 trillion spending spree that favors green specialist interests over American wages and livelihoods.
This bill is chock-full of job-killing initiatives that would hurt working class Americans, destroy our critical energy industry, and add trillions to our already historic levels of debt. I will always oppose any measure that results in higher taxes, lower wages, more debt, fewer jobs, and less economic growth. Watch my remarks here.
Democrats Strip Funding for the Iron Dome

Israel is our strongest ally in the Middle East. This week, Democrats put our alliance in jeopardy to appease the radical members of their party by withholding funding for the Iron Dome defense system.

The Biden debacle in Afghanistan has created doubt of American resolve in the minds of our allies and partners. We should be doing everything in our power to reassure our allies that we stand with them. Instead, Democrats are once again turning their backs on our allies who are instrumental in ensuring peace and stability in the region.

The Iron Dome has saved countless Israeli and Palestinian lives during the attacks by Hamas. This alone should have reassured lawmakers, on both sides, of the sophistication of the technology and the necessity to keep it in place.

I am proud to stand with Israel and reject the shameful actions of my Democrat colleagues.
Telephone Town Hall

This week I called out to over 60,000 constituents for a telephone town hall.

We discussed Biden’s Del Rio Border Disaster, the Democrats’ latest $3.5 trillion spending spree and debt ceiling increase, the tragedy in Afghanistan, and more.

It is important for me to answer your questions and share what my Republican colleagues and I are doing to push back against the truly heartbreaking decisions of this Administration and Democrat-run Congress.
