DHS Should Report on Potential Terrorists Attempting to Enter the U.S.

Today, I introduced a new bill that will force the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to publish the number of known and suspected terrorists who have been caught attempting to enter our country - a number currently hidden by the Biden Administration.

My legislation requires DHS to publish the number of potential terrorists who have attempted to enter the U.S. and who are on the Terrorist Screening Database (TSDB). That database contains the information of those who are known or reasonably suspected of being involved in terrorist activities.

In March of 2021, I was part of the congressional delegation in El Paso, TX who uncovered that potential terrorists were being apprehended crossing the U.S.-Mexico border.

Since that time, DHS has refused to disclose the number of these potential terrorists to the public, despite my repeated requests (here, here).

DHS Secretary Mayorkas has personally told me that the border is "secure." If that's the case, why is his department hiding the facts?

Preventing terrorists from entering our country should not be a partisan issue. My bill will restore transparency and accountability. Americans deserve to feel safe and secure within our borders

Secure the Border

This week, I led the Republican Roundtable on border security. We talked about transparency. We talked about accountability. We discussed the ways in which we can make our nation a safer and freer place.

Under President Biden's watch, there have been nearly 2 million illegal border crossings, and more than 100,000 young Americans have been killed by fentanyl (much of which was been trafficked across our border).

Yet, Democrats on the Homeland Security committee have refused to hold even ONE hearing on border security. If millions streaming across the border and 100,000 dead American youth doesn't warrant action, what does?

Americans deserve a border that is safe and operational, and that is exactly what we are fighting for.

A+ Pro-Life Rating

As a father to three amazing girls, being a pro-life supporter is more than policy, it's personal. I am proud to earn an A+ from the Susan B. Anthony List for championing LIFE in my first year in Congress.

There is nothing more important than speaking up for those who cannot speak for themselves. Sadly, the pro-life movement is up against the most pro-abortion administration in the history of this country.

I will continue fighting to protect the sanctity of life and prevent taxpayer dollars from going to fund abortions.
One Year of One Party Rule

This week marked the one year anniversary of President Biden's inauguration. We know that we are worse off today than we were a year ago. After 365 days of his political agenda, we are no safer, and no more prosperous than we were before.

I know Americans would like to see President Biden put the time and energy he has dissipated on his failed agendas toward policies from which the American people would actually benefit. 

We need the Administration to provide transparency. We need the President to step foot at the border and actually see the crisis for himself. We need President Biden to listen to the will of the people and to be accountable for the crises into which he has steered our nation.

Advocating Against Chinese Human Rights Abuses

The NBC Olympic Games are coming up next month, this year hosted by China. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and media attention on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), the CCP is committing genocide against nearly 2 million Uyghur's who they have enslaved, forced into receiving abortions & sterilizations, and more.

The media should expose communist China by amplifying the voices of those brave enough to protest during the Olympic Games.

I joined Representative Ann Wagner in sending a letter to NBC urging them to air all footage of human rights protests captured during the coverage of the Winter Olympic Games.

Junction and Menard Town Halls

This past Monday, I hosted two town halls, one in Junction at the Junction National Bank and the other in Menard at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
