The Foundation congratulates our 2022 award recipients in the areas of drug delivery, drug discovery, translational medicine, health outcomes research, and value assessment. Out of 315 applicants, the Foundation awarded 36 researchers a total of nearly $2.5 million.

Protecting Pregnant People Through Novel Health Outcomes Research

About 70% of women take at least one prescription medicine during pregnancy. However, little evidence exists about the safety and efficacy of medication use during pregnancy. 2022 Research Starter Grant Awardee Mollie E. Wood, PhD, of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is studying the use during pregnancy of medicines for chronic conditions like high blood pressure.  Learn about Dr. Wood's research.
