Regarding God's Creation
Gen 7:19  The water prevailed more and more upon the earth, so that all the high mountains  everywhere under the heavens  were covered. ... 8:4  In the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, the ark rested upon the mountains of Ararat. 5 The water decreased steadily until the tenth month; in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the tops of the mountains became visible.   - NASU       (Bold emphasis added.)

                 The Pharaoh of the Exodus

Over the last six GHCA presentations, the work of Archaeologist Dr. Doug Petrovich has made a strong systematic case that Joseph, Jacob, Manasseh, and Ephraim are clearly present in the inscriptions of Egyptian archaeology. These inscriptions fit into the events portrayed in the Bible and add new detail and clarity that is quite impressive. Highly important is the fact that Ephraim and Manasseh, largely raised in by an Egyptian mother in the household of the top vizier, Joseph. No doubt they learned to read and write as well as speak Egyptian but could only speak their forefather's language, since there was no written Hebrew
at that time. They saw the great utility and power of a written language even though hieroglyphics was rather clumsy with more than 800 symbols for different words. So, Manasseh and Ephraim developed a written form of Hebrew using an alphabet of 22 symbols borrowed from hieroglyphics. That alphabet made Hebrew far more efficient than Hieroglyphics. All of that happened  in the 12
th  Dynasty of Egypt.

Archaeologist have known for 150 years that this language existed but it remained undeciphered. Now Dr. Petrovich has shown how to read it and it has yielded a source of new systematically consistent evidence. He has also shown how to recognize the names the Egyptians gave these people after distinguishing events occurred.

One should understand that the dates provided by various experts don't agree exactly for many reasons. For example, the standard C-14 calibration curves often don't allow exact conclusions. Also, the observation of rise or set of astronomical objects depend on observer location so vary somewhat with different observers.

Dr. Petrovich concludes that Joseph interpreted Pharaoh's dream in 1885 BC and died in 1805 BC, near the end of the 12 th  Dynasty. In the next three Dynasties, Egypt fell progressively into the chaos generated by large migrations of Canaanite peoples. Later Hyksos invaded from northern parts of the Levant and took control of most of Egypt. That sequence makes me wonder if the good fortunes of the Hebrews in Egypt attracted their old Canaanite neighbors and the Egyptian's tolerance of the migrating Canaanites then attracted conquering invaders.
In approximately 1575 BC a new 18th dynasty of Pharaohs reestablished Egyptian control and expelled the Hyksos. It seems reasonable to suppose that these pharaohs had lost touch with the great benefit from Joseph's leadership and his clan and gained a fear of foreign peoples living independently in their land. That fear would naturally bring efforts to control or subjugate them and to reduce their numbers. In fact one of the Hebrew inscriptions says the new Pharaoh did not know Joseph and another says the Pharaoh sought to cut to barrenness the Hebrew's great number.

All of this is earthshaking because the common opinion among archaeologist and related experts for many decades is that there was no evidence in Egyptian inscriptions of any significant presence or action by Hebrews.
What they looked for just was not there. All the while they taught that the Bible's stories of an Egyptian sojourn is largely mythological. Dr. Petrovich's work is showing what to look for and where.

There is one big question for us to deal with yet - when did the plagues and the Exodus occur and just who was the Pharaoh was on who's watch those events occurred.

On March 5 th  the GHCA will present Dr. Petrovich's paper "Amenhotep II and the Historicity of the Exodus-Pharaoh". In this 30 page paper Petrovich presents eight important criteria from the Bible that must be satisfied  by the Exodus Pharaoh. Was this Pharaoh his father's first born? Did he die in the Red Sea crossing? How did the Egyptians deal with the loss of their slave base? Did this Pharaoh document any military campaigns after the slave departed? Indeed Amenhotep II satisfies all of this and more in a systematic interlocking way.

Overall this work makes the historicity of the Biblical Hebrew sojourn in Egypt easily so  strong that it can no longer be dismissed as mythology. In the future it will be expanded and refined by many contributors, but it will not go away. It will become indispensable knowledge for all who are seriously interested in understanding the Bible and it's message and trustworthiness. It will also become a powerful tool inform the naysayers and Glorify the Lord and His word.

Examples of Important YEC Scientific Evidences

Some major examples of physical evidence we point to include:
  • Remains of original soft tissue still found in dinosaur bones. Along with that tissue is C-14 that would decay completely away in less than a hundred thousand years, a tiny fraction of the dinosaur fossil's supposed age.
  • For many years geologists have found C-14 in fossil carbon throughout the fossil record. So, the entire fossil record is less than 100,000 years old.
  • The origin of the information and molecular machinery in the first living self-reproducing cell remains a complete enigma for biologist and biochemists.
  • In the origin of the universe, big bang theory is being recognized as a dead end by increasing numbers of secular scientists. The hypothesized inflation has nothing to start it, drive it forward, or stop it. Without inflation fatal flaws appear with the absence of predicted antimatter, magnetic monopoles, or any means for the whole universe to come to the same precise background temperature. Then the formation of the first stars is as enigmatic as the origin of the first biological cell. Dark matter and dark energy are as enigmatic as the galactic motions they are needed to explain.
At the root of all standard science are many assumptions that may be quite incorrect. At the top is that there is no God. Another is that present process can be used to explain everything in the past. When we look at a canyon we are taught to assume the river at the bottom cut the canyon. But perhaps tectonic events made the canyon and there is a river at the bottom because water always flows downhill. At the root of big bang theory is a pure assumption that has been named the "Cosmological Principle". Perhaps inaccuracies there are responsible for the big bang's multitude of problems.

There is more about the role of assumptions in science found on our website here. There are many more resources on young earth and young universe evidences here.
