Approximately 4,150 students will be returning to hybrid/in-person learning on Monday morning as part of Phase 2 of the Rochester City School District's reopening plan.
This includes students at all elementary schools in the District (31) who are in grades Pre-K - 6 in general, bilingual, and special education programs.
In January, approximately 325 K - 12 students in specialized programs returned to hybrid/in-person learning across the District.
Media must arrive no later than 7:15 a.m. to ensure everyone's safety.
7:15 a.m. - Media arrival (please park at the Frederick Douglass Community Library, 971 South Avenue and walk to Exit 11 of School No. 12 - closest to the library parking lot)
7:30 a.m. - Buses arrive with students (Space will be made available for media to shoot video of buses arriving with students and students walking into the building)
7:30 a.m. - School starts
Shortly after school starts, Principal John Gonzalez will be available for interviews outside of the school.
No footage will be taken inside of the school. B-roll of students inside the building will be provided later in the morning in order to respect the safety and privacy of students and staff.
