Phase Four Openings
Covid-19 Numbers Increasing - Wear a Mask
Property Tax Appeals Open
Dear Neighbors,

We are   on track to transition to phase four   of the “Protecting Chicago” framework beginning today.

Additional businesses and public amenities will open with limited capacities and appropriate safeguards.

Progress has been made in order to move to phase four, but all residents need to continue to abide by important guidance including: physically distancing and wearing a face covering; limiting non-business, social gatherings to 50 persons for indoor events and 100 for outdoors; staying at home if you are considered vulnerable, feel ill or have come into contact with someone with COVID-19; and getting tested if you have symptoms.

The following industries will open for the first time at the beginning of phase four in Chicago:
  • Indoor seating in bars and restaurants
  • Museums and zoos
  • Performance venues
  • Summer camps / youth activities

We Must Remain Vigilant

Please continue to wear masks and practice social distancing.  The Chicago Tribune said yesterday:

“Illinois health officials Thursday reported 894 new known cases of COVID-19 and 41 additional fatalities, bringing the total number of known cases to 139,434 and the death toll to 6,810. The state also announced a record number of test results with 31,686.

Nationwide, the Center for Disease Control said:

" 38,115 new infections were reported by state health departments on Wednesday surpassing the previous single-day record of 34,203 set on April 25." The increases are occurring in states which have been reopening.

Please contact my office if you need masks. Let’s look out for ourselves and one another and do our part to keep the number of new cases down as we reopen.
