Celebrating all things phenology!

Hi USA-NPN,

Thank you so much for joining us for Phenology Week this year! We hope you have enjoyed celebrating all things phenology. If you missed any of our webinars, we'll be posting the links to the recordings on the Phenology Week page.

To cap off Phenology Week, we are excited to announce the winners of the 2023 Pheno Champion Award: Linda Loring Nature Foundation!

The Linda Loring Nature Foundation is a non-profit land trust on Nantucket Island dedicated to research, stewardship, and education around native biodiversity. They have collected phenology data since 2014 on a diversity of species, including tracking changes in common, native shrubs that are signature species of the landscape. Linda Loring Nature Foundation is the USA-NPN 2023 Pheno Champion due to their consistent long-term phenology data collection, their dedication to teaching students about phenology, and their engagement of the public in learning about climate change impacts.

We're loving all of your great social media posts for Phenology Week! Check out the great photos, stories, and Phenology Phriends on Facebook and Instagram. Below, posts from Gwenyn Hill Farm LLC, Lost Coast Phenology Project, and Monk Botanical Gardens. Keep them coming!

Thank you so much for your continued efforts and support! We truly could not have accomplished so much in these past 16 years without you.

Gratefully,

Friday's #PhenologyWeek challenge

Phenology Friday

We are closing #PhenologyWeek with #PhenologyFriday – let’s end the week with one more visit to your #PhenologyPhriend. Reflect on what you’ve learned about your phriend this week. Has your perception of your plant changed? What physical changes do you see in your plant? Make sure to check the Nature’s Notebook species list to see if your plant is there and make some observations! Send us your reflections and any photos of your phriend, and any phenology changes that you observed in your phriend during this week and @usa_npn will share your observations.

Thank you so much for celebrating Phenology Week with us, and we hope that you enjoy spending time with your new phenology phriend and learn more about its seasonal changes throughout the new year.

More to come this week!
