Celebrating all things phenology!

Hi USA-NPN,

Thank you for joining us for Phenology Week! Yesterday we learned about some Nature's Notebook Basics and heard from several of our Quercus Quest researchers!

If you're just tuning in, every day this week we will let you know about our upcoming talks, a daily #PhenologyWeek challenge, and highlights from some of our top observers! If you would like to share your experiences with us, we would love for you to send an email, or tag us on social media! Access our media kit here.

Thank you so much for your continued efforts and support! We truly could not have accomplished so much in these past 16 years without you.

Gratefully,

Wednesdays's #PhenologyWeek challenge

Wild for Phenology!

We are going to combine #PhenologyWeek and #WildlifeWednesday to learn more about observing animal phenology!

Check back in with your #PhenologyFhriend and see if any animals interact with it. These could be birds collecting branches for their nests, insects pollinating the flowers, spiders building their webs, or squirrels collecting acorns. Use the iNaturalist Seek app or local animal identification guides to identify which animal is visiting your plant so that you can learn more about it! Let us know what you observed with the #PhenologyWeek hashtag, and @usa_npn will share your observations at the end of the week!

Use the Nature’s Notebook species list to see what animals in your area you can observe with Nature’s Notebook. If you already created a site and are monitoring the phenology of your new phenology phriend, see if you can add the animal that you discovered and collect observation data about its phenology.

More to come this week!
