Park(ing) Day brings innovative bike parking from Bicycle Coalition, City of Philadelphia & SEPTA

Friday, September 16. Philadelphia's first in-street "bike corral" was installed on Sydenham Street (off 1500 block of Walnut St.) on September 15th as a Park(ing) Day installation. It will be up for 6 weeks as a demonstration project. The rack is on loan from Dero Bike Rack Co. and was coordinated by the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia and the Mayor's Office of Transportation.
A second set of parking racks was installed in front of the University of the Arts on the 200 block of South Broad street. That project was done in coordination with the Bicycle Coalition, MOTU and SEPTA. These "ganged" U racks were donated by Saris Bike Racks.
Bicycle Coalition staff will be posted at both locations all day to answer questions.
