Tuesday, July 30, 2013 (Ottawa, ON) - Ottawa Fury FC today announced the appointment of Phillip Dos Santos as the North American Soccer League (NASL) club's first Technical Director. Dos Santos is currently the Technical Director of the Lac St Louis region in Montreal; a region with 27,000 registered players. The 35 year old will join Fury FC on August 15. Per club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
After a short career as a footballer at the semi-professional and professional level in Portugal and Mozambique, Dos Santos developed a huge passion for coaching football and moved to Canada in 2004. He has experience at both the provincial and national levels. He has previously held head coaching positions at the Quebec National Training Centre (NTC) program and several Quebec Provincial youth teams.
He is a well-respected staff coach with the Canadian Men's National Program. He is presently the assistant coach of the Canadian Men's U20 National team as and will also lead the Canadian team at the upcoming Francophone games in Nice, France.

Dos Santos will be responsible for the management and growth of the Fury Grassroots and Community programs as well as the Fury FC Academy.

Dos Santos holds an "A" License from the European Union of Football Association (UEFA) and has developed strong relationships with many professional European clubs. He holds both Canadian and Portuguese citizenship and is fluent in English, French, Portuguese and Spanish.
