No Place Like Home: Self-paced online class, April 1-18
When we bring a parrot into our lives, from parakeets to macaws, we are offering them a place to call home. What does home mean? For a parrot it might mean a place to be safe, be healthy, have a sense of family, and be provided positive opportunities to live and thrive. This class will address what each of these means to a bird, and give you some ideas about how to continue providing the good life for your bird. This class satisfies our adoption process class requirement. In order for applicants to receive credit for the class, all activities must be completed and turned in.

Proposal to cover parrots under the Animal Welfare Act, Yes!
USDA is finally considering issuing standards of care for parrots and birds not used for research under the Animal Welfare Act. It’s long overdue, parrots deserve the same legal protections and standards of care as other animals that we care for in captivity and in our homes.

Help for parrots in Ukraine
Do you want to help those who are leaving Ukraine with their parrots, but want a trustworthy organization to send help through? The Polish Association for the Welfare of Exotic Birds is helping those coming from Ukraine to Poland with their birds. Many come without food, without cages, without basic supplies. So, a donation will help those who have left most everything behind, but not their beloved bird. Thank you for helping parrots, everywhere!
