The Good Life:
Tips and Essentials
November 21 - 28
| | | Our core classes look at the essential ingredients to help parrots thrive in our homes - from nutrition and behavior, to enrichment, health, and anatomy. These classes are open to anyone looking to learn or get some new ideas. Adoption applicants may be asked to complete some brief "homework." | | Become a member and support the many parrots of Phoenix Landing. We re-home hundreds of birds every year, host robust educational events, and support conservation. Each level has its own benefits. All levels include a 2027 calendar and tax deductible donation. Some levels also include our 2027 membership shirt. Calendars also available separately. | | | | Some of Our Adoptable Birds | | With 3,682 birds in our adoption program, we know that some inevitably need us for their next home(s). We rarely use the word "rescue" because that sounds like the birds came from neglect or with behavior challenges. No! Birds most often just need a new home, and they are very adaptable and resilient. Adoption is a positive way to make sure birds always have a good place to land over their hopefully long lives. Here are some birds looking for their next good family. Consider adoption first! | | | Wish Lists, Lots of Ways to Help! | |
-
Small monthly pledges greatly help to sustain us!
-
Become a 2027 Phoenix Landing member. Shopping discounts good for one year from the date joined.
-
Check out our Wish Lists on Amazon or Chewy. We always need in-shell nuts, especially hazelnuts this month; as well as paper bags, Scotch-brite scrubbers, shelled almonds, pumpkin pie mix by Farmer's Market, and grains like oat groats and kamut.
-
We also have an Amazon Workshop Wishlist for maintenance, repair, and toy-making. We are constantly fixing cages and doing maintenance in the adoption centers.
-
Visit our Walmart wish list.
-
Sponsor-a-parrot. Give a little extra for birds that need a little extra from us, either because of higher veterinary costs or because they have been at The Landing for a while waiting for their next home.
-
Shop at our on-line store, HelpingParrots.com, another essential revenue source for us.
-
Want to prepare for your bird's future? Donate to our Endowment for Sustainability. Even $5 a month adds up!
-
Parrot taxi drivers always appreciated! We serve a large area on the east coast, and strive to make the best family matches for every bird. If you're interested in helping to transport a bird to their next home, sign up and join us!
-
Live in the Asheville area? On-site volunteers are always needed for cleaning cages and feeding birds, if you're interested in helping on a regular basis.
-
Have a car, truck, motorcycle, RV, or boat you would like to donate? Perhaps it is in need of repair? Now you can donate it through Pawsitive Impact and have it benefit Phoenix Landing Foundation.
| |
Monetary donations are always welcome. The parrots appreciate every dollar!
Non-monetary donations may be sent to:
Phoenix Landing 31 Landing Place, Alexander, NC 28701
Please drop us a note at contact@phoenixlanding.org if you purchase something for us, including if you'd like a thank you note, as vendors rarely tell us who generously purchases something for us. Thanks for helping parrots!
