Russian Heritage Celebration Weekend: Concert in the Park
and Art & Culture Showcase

The Second Annual Russian Heritage Celebration Weekend took place on May 18 and May 19, 2019. Due to the overwhelming success of last year’s event, the City of Sunny Isles Beach decided to make the celebration an annual tradition. The City of Sunny Isles Beach is a small paradise lined with magnificent high rises and surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean on the east and the Intracoastal Waterway on the west. With this much beauty all in one city, it’s no wonder the Russian speaking population has an affinity to this prestigious zip code. We are grateful to the City of Sunny Isles Beach for once again hosting this two-day special celebration to honor the many Russian speaking people who live in the community and the contributions they make to South Florida.
More than 1,500 people joined in the festivities over the weekend which celebrated Russian cultures and traditions with live music, special performances, delicious food, dancing, arts and crafts and more. The sponsors included Empire Title Services, Sunshine State Academy, Law Offices of Steven S. Farbman, P.A., Vibeclass Fitness, Miami Law Group and Russian American Chamber of South Florida. Special acknowledgement to Hughes Group and Mad Monkeys for producing and presenting two unforgettable shows.

Saturday night, popular local artists took the stage at Gateway Park in Sunny Isles Beach and entertained the crowd with some of their favorite songs and dances. The performers included: Aleksey Avdiievskyi, Pavel Novikov, Victor Boo, Anastasia Skachkova, Iulia Cviki, Sergei Smirnov, Larisa Moskaleva, Valery Dolgin, Maria Prokofyeva and Mikhail Kazansky (sound and light).

Sunday night, local schools showed off the talents of their young students who performed for the crowd at Heritage Park in Sunny Isles Beach. Proud parents with cameras circled the stage to capture the perfect picture of their little ones in the spotlight. The showcase included: Sunshine State Academy, VK Dance, Mad Monkeys Kids Entertainment, Kirova Ballet, Sky Dance Academy, Sunny Isles Beach K-8 Music Club, LM Vocal Master Studio, Vladimir Issaev School of Classical Ballet and KIDZonSTAGE.
