Learn to view and write about photography more critically in this three-session workshop with
What Will You Remember editors Elin Spring and Suzanne Révy.
This two-day workshop is designed to help you prepare and practice for your portfolio sessions during the NEPR. Through practice sessions of actually engaging in reviews, Paula Tognarelli will help each attendee work through an actual review, develop an “elevator speech,” assist on how to begin the actual review, how to present and sequence the photographs and assist in the edit of the presentation of the portfolio.
You will learn the questions to ask in the review and learn techniques to keep from being sidetracked by a reviewer. Lastly you will learn how to end the review process and develop a means for follow-up contact with reviewers. Discussion on follow-up will involve practical applications to ensure that the work presented remains memorable for the reviewers as they return to their daily routines in the photo world.

What  is  “street photography”, what makes for a compelling “street” image, and how can we begin to define our own look and approach working in the street?
In art school, critiques are a frequent and important part of growth. But after school, artists often create in isolated environments and yearn for feedback on new work. The Griffin’s critical conversations are safe, honest, and constructive
opportunities to share work-in-progress with other photographers.
In this six hour workshop participants will develop their ideal collector avatar, learn where to find art collectors and generate a list of possible events that you can attend in the next three months to meet more art collectors.

James Collins, photographer and Griffin Museum member, will be the instructor for this beginner/intermediate session. This workshop will focus on the techniques and challenges of macro photography and include a lecture and outdoor practice. Topics will include: equipment review, composition, lighting, field work, & post-processing.

The  Buy a Brick Program is back at the Griffin due to popular demand by our audience .

Once we have accumulated enough orders we will process a bulk order of engraved bricks to be placed into the Griffin's walkway that leads to the  Winchester Rotary Terrace . There's plenty of room and we welcome your tribute inscriptions.
