ORANGEBURG, S.C. -- Thursday marked the first day of Fall Semester Classes at South Carolina State University. The HBCU Bulldog spirit was alive and well as students traveled the campus between classes and residence halls.
The university's unofficial enrollment for the fall is around 2,900 students, including about 1,200 new students, hailing from across South Carolina, 35 other states and countries around the world.
Founded in 1896, SC State offers undergraduate degrees in such disciplines as nuclear engineering, mechatronics engineering, cybersecurity, business management, speech pathology and audiology, agribusiness, elementary education and biology, as well as several graduate programs.
