About 500 new freshmen and transfer students and their families arrived at South Carolina State University's Hugine Suites on Thursday to move into their apartments for the Fall 2023 Semester.

The families were met by student leaders who assisted with carrying belongings into their rooms.

SC State checked in approximately 700 new students into traditional residence halls on Wednesday.

Orientation begins Friday for new students. Upperclassmen will return on Monday and Tuesday. Classes will begin Thursday, Aug. 17.
