Dear Friends,

I want to share some photos I took on my recent trips to Wilmington NC, Chapel Hill NC and Alexandria VA. Over the past 11 years I have traveled to 120 different cities to see my mother's art in museums, galleries, universities, public buildings, outdoor parks, performing art centers and of course in the homes of collectors.

The first two photos were taken in Wilmington NC in September when I visited the 12 story Thermo Fisher building to see the three 14' Dorothy Gillespie sculptures that The Dorothy M. Gillespie Foundation donated over the Summer to the City of Wilmington.

Several years ago, the three sculptures were donated to the Dorothy M. Gillespie Foundation by one of my mother's collectors (seen below in the collectors home).

On my visit last month to a collector's home in Chapel Hill I picked up the four sculptures below which were donated to the Dorothy M. Gillespie Foundation by the estate of the collector. The first sculpture was created in 1999, titled "Love’s Treasure Chest" (enamel on aluminum); it measures 90” x 41” x 16”.

Earlier this month on a visit to Alexandria VA, I attended the Dorothy Gillespie Art+ Wine+Cheese Reception in the Nepenthe Gallery. Over the summer I delivered 26 sculptures, paintings, posters and pastels for the exhibition.
