Updates from the Physical Activity Alliance!

Happy 3rd Birthday PAA!

Three years ago this month, three influential organizations merged into one broadly based, powerful voice for physical activity promotion in America:

The Physical Activity Alliance.

Since then, we've grown to 17 board organizations, launched a new National Physical Activity Plan sector, engaged Capitol Hill and Federal agencies, and made remarkable progress to elevating physical activity assessment, prescription, and referral as a standard of healthcare.

None of this would have been possible without the support of our board, volunteers, partners, supporters, and staff. We cannot wait to see what the next 3 years of PAA will produce, and how many more people we can inspire to #MoveWithUS

Physical Activity Alliance on Capitol Hill!

Last week, PAA was on Capitol Hill with IHRSA: The Global Health and Fitness Association for their 2023 IHRSA Fly-In & Advocacy Summit.

Advocates held more than 100 meetings to talk with Congress about the importance of physical activity and passing policies that incentivize and increase access to physical activity. Thank you IHRSA for your leadership.

PAA is competing against 400 members of Congress, their DC based congressional staff and interns, committee and leadership staff for in celebration of National Physical Fitness and Sports Month.

Who Are We?

The Physical Activity Alliance is the nation’s largest and most inclusive community of physical activity advocates, researchers, academics, and practitioners.

Guided by the National Physical Activity Plan, our mission is to create, support, and advocate for policy and system changes that enable all Americans to enjoy physically active lives.

Together, we envision an active and healthy nation where the opportunity for physical activity is easily available in the daily lives of Americans. #MoveWithUS
