National Council Looks at Role of EDs in Stemming Opioid Crisis
The National Council released a qualitative assessment--Peer Support Workers in Emergency Departments: Engaging Individuals Surviving Opioid Overdoses--which is now available. AAEM Holding 8-hour MAT Waiver Course Prior to its 2019 Conference
The American Academy of Emergency Medicine (AAEM) is holding an 8-hour MAT waiver course March 9, 2019, prior to its conference being held in Las Vegas, NV. According the AAEM, "Emergency physicians have an opportunity to profoundly impact the deadly opioid epidemic by bridging patients to addiction treatment from the ED with buprenorphine. Along with the X-license, the information int he course will facilitate this life-saving, and potentially life-transforming, intervention." [Learn more]
AAP Launches SBIRT Course with Non-Member Limited Time Offer
The American Academy of Pediatrics has launched a new online Quality Improvement course that addresses substance use and adolescence. Participants can earn CME and MOC Part 4 credit. This course will help you identify and close gaps in your practice related to SBIRT using practical tools.
