During the current Shutdown period in Ontario, Holds Pick Up Service is being offered from all London Public Library locations except Glanworth. See below for details.

Due to Shutdown restrictions, no other in person services are permitted. This includes computer use, printing, photocopying and browsing for books, studying or using WiFi inside a library location. These services are not available during the current Shutdown period.

Please check our website for the latest updates to Library services and information. Contact us with any questions.
Holds Pick Up Service
Here is how to use our Holds Pick Up Service:

  • Use the Library's catalogue to browse for books or other items and place holds, choosing your pick up location. Pick Up is available from any library location except Glanworth.

  • You can also call us at 519-661-4600 during business hours and we can assist you in placing holds and finding items.

  • Wait for your email or call notifying you that your item is ready for Pick Up.

  • Items on hold will be kept for Pick Up for up to 8 days. After that period they are checked in and a new hold must be placed.

  • Head to your chosen Pick UP location anytime during their regular hours of operation (holiday hours in effect Dec. 31 and Jan 1 - see below).

  • Return all items using outdoor return chutes.

  • At most locations, the Pick Up area will be located just inside the Library's doors. Wear a mask when entering to pick up. Entry will be one at a time so there may be a wait at busy times.

  • Line up, keeping a distance from others at all times. Have your Library card ready.

  • Pick up your items and exit, keeping a distance.

If you already had items waiting for you on hold, they will be waiting for you to Pick Up this week.
Returning Items
Please continue to return items to any location except Glanworth using our OUTDOOR return chutes. Do not bring returns to the Pick Up area.

Returned items will be quarantined as per provincial guidelines so you will not see these items immediately removed from your account. We appreciate your patience as we quarantine and check in returned items. Late fines will not be charged on returned items.

We are not able to accept book donations at this time, however, you may contact the Friends of the London Public Library who continue to accept book donations and may be able to arrange pick up of your donated books. Leave a message for the Friends at 519-661-2448 to arrange.
