United Way Manitowoc County’s Annual Day of Action was a success! On Friday, June 18, volunteers from across the community came together to make a difference right here in Manitowoc County. Volunteers assembled 400 diversity, equity and inclusion kits for children in our community and distributed hundreds of door hangers featuring information about two of our critical resources – 211 and SingleCare – in both Manitowoc and Two Rivers. Thank you to all of our volunteers who donated their time this year! Additionally, thank you to our sponsors – NextEra Energy and Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry – for making this event possible!
United Way will be distributing our 400 diversity, equity and inclusion kits at the Downtown Manitowoc Farmers' Market on Saturday, July 10 from 8 am to 1 pm or supplies run out. These kits cover a variety of topics including kindness, our differences and similarities, disabilities, where skin tone comes from, and more. They are perfect for young, preschool to elementary school aged children, and include a variety of activities, stories, and goodies. We hope you can stop by the United Way booth at the market to pick one of these no cost kits up for the child in your life!
