A Message From Michelle
Once upon a time a young woman whispered into her mother’s ear, “Tell God to send me a little girl”. Her reply was, “Ok, I will...”. The last words spoken before a beautiful baby girl was born on the morning of the following Mothers’ Day. That little girl grew up and as if the heavens whispered once more, she delivered the most beautiful little girl on the morning of February 23rd.

They said, “Just wait”. They said, “It’s amazing”. They said, “Your world will never be the same”. But as often as I heard those words, nothing could possibly prepare me for the moment I held my grand-daughter for the first time. 10 fingers; 10 toes, all there; I counted each and every one. Little perfect miracles that breathe and stretch and yawn and cry and smile and want nothing more than to be snuggled close. It’s as if I was launched overnight into this Secret (but not so secret) Society of Grandmothers. At my age, to be able to feel the connection of mother to baby one more time.

I am a very lucky woman; I have two handsome, amazing grandsons who have allowed me to be their ‘Mimi’ for almost 11 years. And now, Miss Ophelia comes roaring into our world, a force to be reckoned with to be sure!

Thank you to all of you who have reached out and loved me through this process and have shown their love and support in so many ways. And thank you for allowing me this forum to share my thoughts; both personally and professionally with you. These messages are truly from my heart and I am forever grateful to be able to be in this position at Pickering Manor. Now, enough about babies; let’s build that building!

Happy 1st Month of Spring!!!
