A Message From Michelle
Let’s all take a second and in unison ask, “How can it possibly be October already”?? It seems the months have flown past and we find ourselves turning the page on the calendar much more quickly than before...at least, that’s the way it feels for me. Moving into the month of all-things-Pumpkin seems incredible because weren’t we just getting out the flip-flops and sunscreen?
But October is truly one of those ‘favorite’ months for so many. We start to look forward to those crisp fall mornings and watch intently to notice the leaves changing from a bright green to the fiery blaze of autumn.
Personally, this October marks a milestone for me...a birthday that moves me into that next decade. It’s funny how with each one of those, we reflect and anticipate at the same time the ‘passing’ and the ‘coming’ of our lives. From the age of 10 (yay, double-digits!!) straight on to this day, we look at our 20’s, graduating college and career-bound; our 30’s, raising a family and making our mark; our 40’s, caring for teenagers and some days, still feeling like one; our 50’s, the best one yet for me!
I’m excited to begin this next chapter....I’m grateful for the incredible life I’ve had surrounded by people I love and families I’ve met at Pickering and I’m excited to be a part of this transition to our future. I’m grateful for being healthy and excited about changes that are happening in our family (more on that later!). And in all this reflection and anticipation, I am grateful for the recognition that each day ‘is a bonus’ as one of my dear friends always says!
So, Happy October everyone!! Go grab a Pumpkin Latte, take a walk in the woods and live in this moment! Be well....
