Pickering Soccer Centre Update
September 17, 2021
In Support of Ontario's Proof of Vaccination Policy
On September 14, 2021, the provincial government released the regulations and guidance for non-essential businesses and organizations to support the implementation of proof of vaccination requirements, which take effect on September 22, 2021.
As of September 22, 2021, Ontarians will need to be fully vaccinated (two doses plus 14 days) and provide their proof of vaccination along with photo ID to access certain public settings and facilities, including the Pickering Soccer Centre.
An individual is considered fully vaccinated if they have received:
  • The full series of a COVID-19 vaccine authorized by Health Canada, or any combination of such vaccines, or
  • One or two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine not authorized by Health Canada, followed by one dose of a COVID-19 mRNA vaccine authorized by Health Canada, or
  • Three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine not authorized by Health Canada; and
  • They received their final dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days before providing the proof of being fully vaccinated.
Ontarians can print or download their vaccination receipt from the provincial booking portal. Those who need support obtaining a copy of their vaccination receipt including those who do not have access to a computer or printer can call the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre at 1-833-943-3900.

Beginning September 22nd, the following groups of individuals will be REQUIRED to provide proof of double vaccination (on paper or via PDF) as well as valid government ID in order to enter the Pickering Soccer Centre facilities:
  • Players aged 18 and older
  • Parent/guardian or spectator aged 12 and older
The following groups of individuals are EXEMPT from providing proof of vaccination:
  • Players aged 17 and younger, actively engaged in physical activity (training or competition) on the field of play
  • Coaches, Match Officials, Team Officials (including staff, trainers, managers, volunteers) regardless of age
  • All Pickering Soccer Centre patrons must complete a screening questionnaire prior to entry, and contact tracing requirements (name/phone number) remain in place. PFC is developing a QR code to be used for screening and contact tracing purposes that will be available on the facility page of our website.
  • All rental groups must provide, via email to mailto:psc@pickeringfc.ca, a complete roster/participant list detailing all participants and their contact information prior to their first session. Handwritten entries will not be accepted. Roster/list will be used to verify attendance, confirm vaccination status, and may also serve as contact tracing.  If a name is not on the roster/list, they will not be permitted to participate until it is added.  Those with missing contact information will also not be permitted to participate until rectified.  Provision of the roster/list is the responsibility of the named permit holder or designate.
  • Participants 18+, parents/guardians must be screened for vaccine compliance each visit upon arrival, and must carry proof of vaccination status at all times. Durham Region Public Health and/or City of Pickering Bylaw officers may ask for proof of vaccination while conducting random compliance inspections.
  • No spectators are permitted, with the exception of 1 accompanying parent/guardian for each player under the age of 18 (parent/guardian must provide proof of vaccination, photo ID, and contact tracing information).
  • Face masks must be worn at all times unless engaging in physical activity on the field of play. Masks may only be removed once you enter the field of play.
  • Physical distancing is required at all times while in common areas of the facility.
  • No access to change rooms or showers (washrooms only) unless authorized and at the discretion of the Pickering Soccer Centre.
  • All rules/restrictions are subject to change without notice as provincial, municipal and sport governing bodies fine tune their requirements.
