Dear members, friends, and supporters of TAF,
Dr. Albert A. Wells, the benefactor of our beloved Wells Community Cultural Center, envisioned the building as a gathering space for the Greater Lafayette community.
As you may have already seen in the news, two pieces of our community's architectural history were stolen last week when thieves absconded with the large, decorative bronze light fixtures that had flanked the entrance of the Wells building since it was erected in 1926.
Over the past week, we worked with the Lafayette Police Department to recover the bronze lamps. We are delighted to say that LPD returned a majority of the fixtures to us this afternoon. We promise to keep you updated with our plans as we literally pick up the pieces.
We are ever grateful for your support. The calls we received from our community prove that Dr. Wells' gift continues to be treasured by Greater Lafayette, and we are committed to fulfilling his vision for the future!
