If you are planning to celebrate First Communion at St. Emily, you will have the chance to record your preference for the date beginning tonight, October 16 at 8:00 PM.

Please note that the seating will be different this year.  The candidates and two family members will be seated in the center pews.  Other family members will be able to accommodated in the church, but there will not be reserved family pews.

If you are a St. Thomas Becket parishioner, the First Communion ceremony will be on Sunday, April 26 at 12:30 PM.

Watch it first for yourself and look for the feelings that it evokes in you. What do the last words mean for you, as a parent and as a child of God?

After you watch with your child, talk about it. Is there anything that God can't forgive, even if we feel very ashamed? Why is that true?

At our meeting, I suggested that you might want to buy a missal for your child now.  It will help him or her to learn the mass prayers as s/he follows along. And it is fun to take one's own special book to church!
