Hello Findlay YMCA Members and Friends!

Each month, your Findlay YMCA strives to make a difference in our community by providing exceptional service and support to those in need. We are proud of the work that we do together and wish to share our achievements with you! We also have lots of exciting things planned for October and we want you to be in the loop! There is a lot of information in this month's newsletter so be sure to scroll to the end!

We are holding our 2nd Annual Benefit Sale next month Downtown and Findlay YMCA members get first dibs at the Member Presale on October 19th from 5-7 pm!

The sale will open to the public on October 20th from 9-11 am & 3-5 pm and on October 21st from 9-12 pm.

Funds raised from the Benefit sale are directed to the Findlay YMCA Annual Campaign which support programs and Open Doors Scholarships!

We will be accepting donations for the sale right up to the event. If you have any items that could be used in a new home, please drop them off at the Downtown front desk prior to October 19th.

October 5th 9 am-3 pm. Appointments are required.

Lifeguard Training

We will be offering lifeguard training sessions October 20th-22nd. All Lifeguard classes are conducted using the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Course. Participants will earn an American Red Cross certification in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and First Aid with a successful completion of the course. All certifications are valid for 2 years from the date of the last day of the class.

Participants must be 15 years of age on or before the last day of the course. The trainings will take place at the Downtown Branch.

Friday, October 20th: 4pm to 9pm
Saturday, October 21st: 10am to 6pm
Sunday, October 22nd: 10am to 5pm

Our next Family Fun Night for members will be held October 27th. Bring your families to hang out and enjoy special activities at the Downtown Branch from 6-8 pm.

Save the dates for a Family Lego Night on November 10th and Donuts with Santa on December 16th!

Fall II Programs and Classes Published!

In less than two weeks, early registration for members opens for the next session. Our wellness staff has been hard at work, creating programs and schedules to help members reach their full wellness potential!

Our Fall II session of programs and classes begins October 23rd and runs through December 16th.

Open Play Pickleball!

New in the Upcoming Session!

To meet the growing demand of Pickleball, we've designated three hours a week to Open Play! Grab a spot on Mondays or Wednesdays from 11:30 am-1 pm for $56 ($112 for nonmembers). This fee covers one day for all seven weeks of the session. Double your fun by registering for both days for a total cost of $112 for members and $224 for nonmembers!

Member registration opens October 9th. Space will be limited to the first 24 registrants for each day.

We have added some truly engaging programs for Pre K through 3rd graders in the upcoming session! Kristy Nelson will be leading Book & Cook events which combine story time with hands on crafts and yummy DIY snacks! Class size is limited so be sure to grab your child's spot when registration opens on October 9th!

ZOMBIE ZUMBA

Grab your friends, family, and even your undead neighbors and join us for a night of fun and fright. Come join us for Zombie Zumba! This spooktacular event is free for members and only $10 for nonmembers. Instructor Gigi Romero will guide you through the dance moves, so even if you have two left feet, you'll be able to keep up. Don't miss out on this thrilling event!

Zombie attire encouraged, but not required.

Sports League Registration Dates

Registration for Fall Basketball League for Pre K-6th grade and Fall Indoor Soccer for U5 and U6 are ending on October 9th.

Help your child develop important life skills both on and off the court in Findlay YMCA Youth Sports leagues where teamwork, growth, and sportsmanship are prioritized!

Fall Basketball and Fall Indoor Soccer run from October 23rd-December 16th, congruent with Fall II Session.

Members! Come one, come all, to the Downtown Branch the week of October the 9th. We will have pumpkins to paint, and memories to make. Bring your creativity and let's get crafty - we can't wait to see the masterpieces you make to bring some seasonal fun to our facility.

Please note:

The hot tub will be closed the first Thursday of every month for deep cleaning and regular maintenance.

Extended non-summer hours began on September 5th.
