Pickleball and the Law: Legal Issues Arising from America's Fastest-Growing Sport
🗓️ Friday, May 15 at 12:30 PM Pacific

Edward H. Rosenthal of Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz PC discusses the surprising legal issues emerging from pickleball, one of America's most popular recreational sports. The program will explore recent cases, including a case involving First Amendment questions raised by a defamation dispute within a homeowners' association and anti-SLAPP litigation under the Texas Citizens Participation Act, and a federal Lanham Act case involving equipment certification, false endorsement, and the integrity of governing body approval seals. Edward Rosenthal will discuss how courts are analyzing these issues and offer practitioners insight into how pickleball courts, rules, equipment and play can land squarely in litigation.

The Litigation Section is chaired by Rachael Kogen.
