SENIOR SPOTLIGHT

About Bjorne Neilson: Mr. Neilson has been with Pie in the Sky since 2017. He was born in Sweden in 1939 and moved to St. Johns County in 1980. Mr. Neilson speaks four languages; Swedish, Spanish, German, and English.

What Mr. Neilson enjoys most about Pie in the Sky visits:  Mr. Neilson enjoys his volunteer Steve "Uncle Stevo" Marrazzo. "He is a very fine fellow who spends time with me and helps me out around the yard from time to time," says Neilson. Steve Marrazzo explains, "Mr. Neilson regularly informs me that he is a Viking. He has a great sense of humor and a dry wit. He feeds all the animals in his yard including squirrels, mice, and has a few lizards that he names and they eat on his porch."

PEACE IN THE PARK RECAP
The first St. Augustine Peace in the Park event was a huge success with more than 135 folks making a beautiful peace sign! Special thanks to our partners at Compassionate St. Augustine and The Peaceniks.

Our fabulous and creative Board Vice-President, Betsy Freeman, made the most beautiful peace pole. Betsy incorporated the very heart of Pie in the Sky, a quote from journalist and social activist, Dorothy Day, "Peace begins when the hungry are fed."

There is still time to get a limited addition special t-shirt! Contact Malea at pyinthesky@comcast.net or call 904-382-9939 to place an order.

TAKE A SLICE OUT OF SENIOR HUNGER
You know it costs Pie in the Sky just $262.50 to bring fresh, healthy produce to low-income seniors in our community. We know that may seem like a lot, so we've broken it down to give you an idea on how you can help. Any way you wanna slice it, invite some friends, share with a church group, get your BFF on-board. It all adds up! No one can do everything, but everyone can do something.
