FROM MR. BRUNE
Parents and Friends,
This week on Wednesday we made the call to take a break from remote learning, eLearning and school and have a good old fashioned SNOW DAY! During this pandemic we have heard unendingly about the gap in education and that our kids are going to be so far behind. Certainly moving remote learning for the last quarter of school last year was not ideal and quarantines/isolations have caused more disruptions to 'normal' for this year. However, even with all of that, our kids are still kids. We still know they learn better when their WHOLE health is taken into considerations not just their academic achievement. I hope your children had an opportunity to take a break on Wednesday and other times throughout this year to just be a kid. Play in the snow, go sledding or even have a snowball fight. It is so vitally important that we allow our kids to be kids especially as we all cope with the continued stress of COVID. Certainly we will continue to work hard in school and make up any gap that might be there but let's make sure we do not become solely focused on academics alone and lose focus on all of the other areas our kids need growth and time for. May God bless you this weekend as you take more time for all of the other things in life that matter!

"For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven." - Ecclesiastes 3:1

In Him,

Chris Brune

Pastor's Sermon
Reverend Steve Ahlersmeyer is preaching this weekend. His sermon is titled, "The Lord Will Provide". Please take some time to prepare for worship by reading the Bible passages before attending church.

Old Testament - Genesis 22:1-18
Epistle - James 1:12-18
Holy Gospel - Mark 1:9-15

Please join us for worship on Saturday evening at 5:00, Sunday morning at 8:00 or 10:30, or Monday evening at 6:00. The 10:30 service will be live streamed on the church facebook page.
Stepping Stones
“Lord, Have Mercy.”
In the distant past, if a king wanted to hurt or kill someone, he had the power to do so. A commoner could not take him to court or file an appeal. In this desperate situation, the person could only ask for the king to change his mind. “Lord, please have mercy. By your divine right show kindness on your servant.” We today pray to God, our Lord, to have mercy still. This part of the service is called the “Kyrie.” It is the time where we ask God, as the most powerful lord, to have mercy on us, the church, and the world. There is much more to know about God’s mercy and why we pray this in church. Come and find out at Monday’s Stepping Stones worship service (6:00 pm in the church gym).
Special Lent Family Videos
Grow in your faith as a family during the Lenten season in just 15 minutes each week.

Each Wednesday during Lent, we will post a special Bible lesson video for families to enjoy with their children. Each lesson will include a short narrative from a Bible character followed by instructions for an activity or discussion at home.

These videos will post on St. Peter's YouTube channel and Facebook page each week at 6:30 pm. You will have plenty of time to complete the video and activity before settling in for 7:00 worship either in person or via live stream. (The videos will remain in both locations in case another time in your week is easier for your family.)

For this week's video, you will want to have on hand some paper, scissors, and a pencil or crayon.

If you missed this week's video, find it HERE.
Lent Family Devotional Calendar
Adults get daily devotions, so why shouldn’t children? Bring the entire family together in daily devotions with the Return to the Lord Children’s Calendar. Starting on Ash Wednesday moving all the way through Holy Saturday. Daily activities, colorful artwork, and Scripture readings keep children engaged in their devotions and connected to Christ. Pick up your copy today in the Ministry Center.
Prayer List

SUPPORT OUR SCHOOL
Faithfully Forward Campaign
Great news, with the February mortgage payment, we have now reduced our outstanding mortgage to below two million! ($1.995 million) However, we still have plenty of work to do. As of 12/31/2020, which completes the second year of the four-year campaign, members and supporters have given $1.563 million dollars and our forecast estimates that we will raise $2.6 million by the end of the campaign. If the current giving trend continues, we will still need to raise $900,000 - $1,000,000 to pay off the building loan. Therefore, we really need everyone to complete his or her pledge if possible and it is not too late for someone to start supporting this campaign. As we have done since the start of the campaign, please pray “Lord, what do you want to do through me?” Please contact Tony Hunt, Director of Advancement with any questions. Cell 222-1291 or email thunt@stpetersfw.org.
