Pieces of the Rock

FROM MR. BRUNE
Parents and Friends,
These first two weeks back from Christmas break have been a great reminder for me of the stress and mental fatigue this pandemic is wreaking on our students, adults and families. It is because of this we have begun to make some safe and responsible changes to schedules specifically in the middle school, renewed our focus on all of our students' mental health and ways to be proactive and actively looking at ways we can do things better. Middle school parents will receive an email later with information on some of those changes starting next Tuesday and outlining our reasons and rationale for those. We are evaluating ways we can safely make changes to properly address the mental toll this year is having on our students.

Ultimately this comes down to one important reason, our students are far more important to us as people than JUST simply how they do academically. Yes, we strive to do the very best academically, which our teachers consistently knock it out of the ballpark! However, our students are far FAR more important to us than simply a grade.

This year has been hard on all of us… mentally straining, exhausting and stressful. The lack of control we feel over our lives can place a very real strain on our own mental health. If you or someone you love are struggling, reach out to myself, one of our teachers, or pastors. We are here to help and have connections to really good resources. I encourage all of us to pay attention to our own mental wellbeing and that of those around us. God might be using you to minister to a family member, friend or co-worker. When we find our value in Him and the love He first poured onto us, we can begin to see how truly valuable we are. A redeemed Child of the Most High!

In Him,

Chris Brune

This past Thursday we celebrated our 8th grade athletes with 8th grade recognition. Especially this year, our 8th graders and their parents have dealt with a lot of schedule changes, attendance alterations, safety plans etc it is important for us to pause for a moment and thank them for all their years at St. Peter’s. Athletics is just one of the many ways God blesses our kids and we are thankful for all of their time and commitment to those talents!

An Opportunity to Offer Time & Talents
The Property Team is lining up volunteers to take a weekend to be on-call to cover sidewalk shoveling and salting around our entrances before & after weekend worship services. The main objective is to keep the walks near each door clear of snow and ice so our members can enter and exit our facility as safely as possible (the major parking lot plowing/salting is already covered).

This is a wonderful family project opportunity if you've been looking for a way to give back together. If this is something you or maybe your family is interested in, please complete the form found at the link below as soon as possible.
