Pieces of the Rock
Quest for His Kingdom
Matthew 6:33

As most of you are aware this past week was a busy week in the Brune household. On Monday morning Brittany and I were blessed with the addition of our third child, a beautiful baby girl Emery Ruth Brune! As we have begun to make the shift from two children to three a common statement that we have heard is that we are moving from man to man defense to zone. Isn’t that true?!? I am sure our middle child, Wyatt (who is the wild one) is rejoicing in the trouble he might find now that less eyes are able to be on him. After all how can he enjoy the fun on top of the counter if we are watching him like a hawk!

As I was preparing for chapel this week I decided it would be a great time to focus on baptism. As Brittany and I figure out the ‘zone defense’ of children, it made me ever thankful that God is never in a zone defense mindset with us. He doesn’t check in on us when He has time or when He is done taking care of His other children. No, quite the opposite. He continually walks alongside us, playing tight man to man, reminding us of our baptism and the love that He has for us. Omnipresent in our lives, even when we don’t realize it.

The moment when Emery was born and we could hold her for the first time was amazing…. And yet, we will only hold her for a short time here on earth. We are blessed that the Lord chose us to be her parents however we know that ultimately Emery is not ours but her Heavenly Fathers. Through the waters of baptism God will call her His own, and there is no better name than that. Child of God. May we all live in the baptismal grace given to us when God called us His own!

In Him,

Chris Brune

In Our Classrooms
What is the Mystery Mixture?
7th grade science students are working very hard observing chemical reactions to determine what two substances make up the Mystery Mixture! They promised Mr. Brune they wouldn't do anything to cause damage while they tested their concoctions!
Saint Peters Rocks!
Your kiddos might have mentioned that our teachers looked a little different today in school! That is because today we Rocked our school! Teacher dressed up like rock stars and had dynamite lessons that focused on student engagement. Our teachers do a phenomenal job of this already however it is fun to sometimes take a day and make learning fun! I am not sure if they would admit it but our teachers are definitely quick to pull out their best rocker outfits to get students excited about learning! After all… St. Peter’s Rocks!
