Pieces of the Rock
Quest for His Kingdom
Matthew 6:33
Dear Parents,

I have had a lot of people asking me the question lately, “How is the year going at school?” My common response is one that is short and completely honest, “Busy.” Yes it is true that a day at school for most of us between chapels, activities in classrooms, lunch, recess, etc can feel like it lasts but only a blink and then it is time to go home. The time we get to spend together here in school is time that we as teachers relish. Even on the bad days, we wish we had more time to minister to our kiddos.

It is easy to get caught up in the busyness of the school day or life and forget the opportunities that we have each and every day. Each and everyday we have a chance and opportunity to show someone else the love of Christ. Whether that be on the playground, on the weekend, or in any of the daily tasks that we find ourselves in, we have a chance to share the good news and the love of our Savior! The devil will continue to work against us and we can get beaten down however we know that as the bible tells us in Romans 8:37  “ In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”

Here at school we are blessed to live in the grace and love of Jesus Christ knowing that even though we will fall short, Christ sacrifice makes us perfect! Let us all live in the grace and love of God!

In Him,

Chris Brune

In Our Classrooms
Some more S'mores!
After second graders finished their reading unit this week, they had to indulge in some yummy s'mores themselves! Their story was based on a camping adventure and they learned why we call them s'mores .... because everyone wants some more!
Who Stole the Cookies from the Cookie Jar?
Kindergartners used their detective skills to find out who stole the cookies from their cookie jar! Our prime suspects were Mr. Brune, Mrs. Kidd and Mr. Loveless all who has plenty of motive... delicious cookies! Using our detective skills and a quick reminder about honesty, we found the culprit...Mrs. Kidd! Good news is that we found all of the cookies safely and were able to share with our friends. YUM!
Engineer Masterminds
Second grade completed a few hands-on projects this week during science class. They used teamwork to compete in creating the tallest towers and bridges in a short time. From the looks of it, we have a couple future engineers in our school!
