Pieces of the Rock
Dear Parents,

This week our Wildcat Essential was Carpe Diem! For those that do not know, Carpe Diem is a Latin aphorism that translates to, Seize the day. This is commonly used as an encouragement in the morning or by leaders to capture the day that stands before them! We here at school want our kiddos to seize each and every day they are in the classroom. Whether through math, phonics, science, art or religion they have an opportunity for growth before them.
Our Wildcat Essential, however, had a different spin on the traditional Carpe Diem charge. We instead have chosen to have our kiddos focus on seizing the opportunities God gives them each day to make a difference in the lives of other people. The chances they are presented to show grace when maybe a friend did not deserve it, forgive and forget, or even giving time and effort towards someone else and their goals without the expectation of a return. These things are pretty counter cultural and yet, they are what God calls us to do each day.

While we are teaching our students to take advantage of these opportunities to seize the day, we as adults would be remiss if we did not also take advantage of those same opportunities. The time that we are given each day is a gift from God to use. There are 86,400 seconds in each day. Lord willing, each day we rise to the opportunities that each one of those seconds will give to us. Opportunities to show, spread and share the love of Christ with those around us. Especially as we make our way through the Advent season, Carpe Diem as we continue to Quest for His Kingdom !

In Him,

Chris Brune
Weekly Updates & Reminders
Happy Shoppers!
A special shout out to our Sparkle Shop helper elves! Anthony Annunziata, Tina Choka, Julie Reidt, Ruth Roembke, Laura Schweder, Stacia Traxler, Joy Weller, and the PTL put a lot of time and effort into creating the Sparkle Shop this past Wednesday. These people donated their time to helping our kiddos pick out gifts for the special people in their lives. As the kids left the Sparkle Shop you could see the joy and excitement on their faces as they described who they bought presents for. Thank you helpers for all your time and effort!
Bakers Needed
Our Annual Cookie Walk will be held on Saturday, December 14th from 9am - 12pm in the lower level of the church. Please consider donating your family's favorites to our sale! All cookies will need to be delivered to the church kitchen by 6pm on Friday, December 13th.
Santa's Coming to Town
Mark your calendars .... A Wildcat Christmas celebration is taking place in the preschool on Saturday, December 14th and it just so happens to be the same day Santa will be in town visiting! We invite our little friends for Christmas crafts and games, stories with Mrs. Claus and pictures with Santa from 10am-12pm.
Now Hiring
We are looking to hire a part time kitchen aide. The hours are 8:30 am - 2:00 pm Monday through Friday. (These hours work great for parents with children here at school!) Please reach out to Ruth Roembke with any questions about this position. Please submit applications to Mrs. Roembke's attention.

Clubhouse currently has a sub position available. We are looking for someone to help fill spots when regular scheduled workers are sick and or unavailable. Hours will be sporadic and depend entirely on planned and sick days off of other workers. Applicant must be willing to be flexible with the schedule as a small amount of the openings might have 24 hours of notice before hand. Morning hours are Monday and Friday 7-8, Tuesday-Thursday 7-8:30, and afternoons are M-F 2:30-5:30. Inquire in the school office or with Mrs. Vault Vaudt at clubhouse@stpetersfw.org
5th Grade Basketball Tournament
Next weekend we are hosting our Annual 5th Grade Basketball Tournament. This tournament would not be possible without the help and support of our Wildcat family. Please consider helping with Concessions, Spirit Wear/Hall Monitor, Clean Up, and coming to cheer on our Wildcat athletes! Your continued support throughout the school year helps keep costs reasonable for all of our families. Concessions and Spirit Wear are our two biggest fundraisers supporting all of our athletic teams. Thank you for your support!

Advent Hymn-Sing
St. Peter’s Annual Advent Hymn-Sing will be on Wednesday, November 11 at 7:00 p.m. Take a break from the hectic holiday season to sing your favorite Advent and Christmas hymns while learning just a bit about their history and importance. This evening of song followed by fellowship and desserts will be sure to brighten your Advent spirits.

Consider today who you might invite to join you. This special service is a perfect opportunity to bring someone new. They will be sure to recognize and enjoy the songs, even if they have never attended a church service in the past. What greater gift can you give a family member, a friend, a co-worker, or a neighbor than a little holiday cheer accompanied by the good news of Christmas? Flyers are available in the Ministry Center that you can use as an invitation.
