FROM MR. BRUNE
Dear Parents,

After three days of our new school year, it is so great to be gathered together once again! After 151 days of empty halls and remote learning I cannot begin to tell you how amazing it feels to have the halls filled with His kids! The partnership that we have is so valuable to us and it has shown itself to be immensely strong in these first couple of days. Students have adapted to the new guidelines and have adjusted really well to masks and increased cleaning as well as decreased movement between rooms. Parents have been great in communicating with us here in the office as well as adjusting to some of the changes with pick up and drop off. Teachers have once again pivoted extremely well and continue to deliver a truly exceptional learning environment despite the challenges. To see all of these adjustments and changes taking place around us and yet to see our St. Peter’s community adapting like it has, has been humbling.

I mentioned this on Wildcat Night and it is so important I have to mention it again... We are in this together! There are things already that we have changed and adapted to even in the first couple days, and there will continue to be more adjustments as we assess how to continue improving. As we work through this together, there will need to be grace and understanding on all sides. We feel so honored to be joined together in educating your children. Remember to stay Anchored to Him and His word, knowing that true peace and comfort come from our Heavenly Father!

In Him,
Chris Brune

Lunch Changes
After almost a year of planning and preparing, we launched our new lunch program to start this year with raving reviews from students! Planning began months ago with Mrs. Roembke and she has worked along with our new Food Service Manager Mrs. Arnett to roll out an entirely revamped menu with home cooked, nutritious and filling meals. The work of the whole kitchen staff as they have adapted to the new changes and guidelines while still delivering hot and fresh meals has been extremely impressive. Great job ladies! Find next week's and all future lunch menus with the next round of great meals at the end of each issue of Pieces of the Rock or under Announcements when logged in to your FACTS Family Portal.
Carline Safety
  • Form 2 lines on the west side of the school building
  • Alternate into two lanes coming around the corner
  • Never pull to the right of the cars parked in the 4 load/unload spaces
  • Do not get out of your car during carline. If you need to assist your child, pull forward and park along the lower level classrooms beyond carline.
  • Use the overflow carline map below if the school drive is full. Once preschool begins next month, you will see their carline in the church lot as well.
  • If you pull in the north church lot, you must turn right and park. Do NOT turn left or use this lot for carline overflow. The south church lot is for overflow carline.
  • Be mindful of those who may already be waiting in the overflow carline if you arrive during carline.

If you have grandparents, babysitters, or other friends or family using the carline, please screenshot this and share with them! It is important for the safety of our students. Thank you!
Artwork Displayed Online
Since we cannot have parents in the hallways currently, we know you will not be able to see all of the great art work from your kids hanging on the walls of our school. Mrs. Koenig has worked all summer on an option for you to view, see, and even print copies of your students art work in really good quality. Mrs. Koenig will be sending home information next week with your students on how to access those. Stay tuned!

IN OUR CLASSROOMS
Opening Chapel and Whole School Mission
We began our week over in the sanctuary with opening chapel led by Pastor Steve reminding us that Christ is our Anchor and to stay connected to him so that we do not drift away. Even though it was different, it was so good to be connected again as a family! We then ended our week on Friday afternoon with a whole school mission outside. Socially distance and enjoying different activities, it was a great opportunity to once again be together!
WEEK AT A GLANCE
WORSHIP
Pastor's Sermon
Pastor Steve Ahlersmeyer is preaching this weekend. His sermon is titled "Be Persistent". Please take some time to prepare for worship by reading the Bible passages before attending church.

Old Testament - Isaiah 56:1, 6-8
Holy Gospel - Matthew 15:21-28

Please join us for worship on Saturday evening at 5:00, Sunday morning at 8:00 or 10:30, or Monday evening at 7:00. The 10:30 service will be live streamed on the church's facebook page.
We Want to Hear from You
Like so many other things, our worship at St. Peter's has been tremendously impacted by the pandemic. As we continue to determine the best ways to provide meaningful (and safe) worship opportunities, we would like to hear from you.

Please take a moment to complete the brief (less than 5 minutes), anonymous survey. We thank you in advance for your help with this.

SUPPORT OUR SCHOOL
Scrip Program
Thank you for your support of this program. Despite the office not being open for several months during COVID, we still raised 12% more than last year in scrip rebates. Of course, if you had setup the online payment option, you were able to continue to purchase scrip online. These rebates support both the day school and the preschool. If you are not taking advantage of this no cost easy way to support our schools, please contact me (Tony) at [email protected]. If you are a school family, you can find easy links to setup under Announcements on your FACTS website. This is an easy way to reduce your school fees.

Other no cost ways to support our schools: Kroger Community Rewards that link your Kroger Plus card to direct support to us. AmazonSmile, where the Amazon Foundation contributes to our school for every qualified purchase. Coca-Cola Give, which gives us a nickel for every bottle cap code that you enter at their website. GiveBack to Schools by Office Depot & OfficeMax based on qualified purchases.
Contact Tony Hunt for our enrollment code.
